Chastain... he played well but just not sure how it would translate. There was no one on the court within 3 inches of him. Very good athlete... but not great athlete (IMO). Watched a kid from St. Joe (Trimble) -- may not be as good as athlete but just as good of numbers / better competition. I don't think Chastain is as good as the kid from St. Teresa last year that went to Iowa (Christian Williams).

Williams two breakaway dunks. Manual leads 6-5.

Sounds like Damonte is off to a good start. This game is not streaming anywhere I can find -- even the pay site. Following this twitter account-- click on the link above-- is the best way to follow it that I'll have up north.

A couple of good games on the Cube. Curie vs Kenwood should be a great game even if there aren't any players of interest to Illini fans. http://thecube.com/event/curie-vs-kenwood-riverside-brookfield-sectional-ch-626277

D'Monte Williams had his best game yet of the playoffs. Had like 4 or 5 dunks, I'd guess around 20 points. Always plays good defense and rebounds hard. I will keep my stance that he is not a college PG however. Actually he really isn't a PG on his high school team.

Goodwin went off tonight! Put the team on his back and carried them to the Super. Hit a couple 3's, several mid range jumpers, and several dunks/putbacks. Looked like the best player in the state tonight

Manual over Bloomington 84-64. Wins 3A sectional championship.

"Da'Monte Williams had five dunks and 20 points..."

That's what I like to see from a 6'3" point guard :thumb:

Agree with the others that Althoff will most likely be in the 3A state title game, but Manual will have to beat Bloomington and (presumably) Rockford Boylan and Morgan Park to get there. Pretty tall order. Henricksen has been licking his chops over a MP-BA title game since the brackets game out. I'd also love to see Moore vs Goodwin. If we got to see Moore-Da'Monte and Moore-Goodwin in back-to-back games, that would be HS heaven for high school tourney nuts like myself.

No way. I want the Goodwin/Williams matchup, but I'm greedy like that.

LeRoy's super was one of the few games on the Cube Tuesday night and I checked out Chastain since Henricksen has been raving about him lately and he's picked up almost 10 offers just in the last week. Very impressed with how smooth the kid is and he just doesn't miss -- from anywhere. He'd fit in the Pac-12 or MVC very well.

Gratuitous shot at the Pac 12! I like it!

Insane end to the 2nd 2A semi-final game tonight. Carson Frakes of Rockridge High School hits a buzzer beater game winner from half court. Rockridge beat Hales Franciscan 45-43.

Have you actually watched him/Manual play? You MAY be right about PG play in college..hard to say and does not matter as he is too multi-talented to care imo. However, there is zero doubt he IS the main PG for Manual and I guarantee you Derrick Booth would say the same.

I was at the game tonight (at last 3 of 4 Manual games) and he dominated while ONLY scoring 20 pts. His passing, rebounding, defense (both blocks and steals) and ball-handling were huge tonight. It was like watching a D1 player against high-schoolers. Oh, and he has absolutely superior athleticism on a 6'4" frame.

Werner said on Tay & Jay show today that he & Piper taliked to some people close to the Tilmon recruitment and asked if they thought he'd stop by Champaign on his way back home. Werner said their answer was that they don't think we need him to. They also said they don't even know who else is recruiting him because Illinois was so much in the drivers seat.
Would be really nice to wrap that up, if not this weekend, really really soon. Letting Goodwin go through AAU scares me a lot.

Wow that couldn't have been any closer to the buzzer either.

I was able to pause the video with .01 showing on the clock in the lower right corner. The buzzer has already gone off and the ball is out of Frakes hands. It took me multiple reviews before I was truly comfortable that the shot was good based on the clock showing in the video. Absolutely remarkable.
