Not that we were expecting to be in his top five, but he did hold an offer!

All-Rivals Team: Best players from second live period
Eric Bossi | National Analyst

Courtney Ramey
Recruiting: Cincinnati, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ohio State, Texas and Florida have all offered within the last month.

Performance: Ramey has always been known for his ability to push the tempo and defend on the ball. At the Summer Jam, Ramey showed off much improved jump shooting, was more vocal with his teammates and easily played up to his No. 60 overall ranking in the class of 2018.

Justin Smith
Recruiting: Indiana, N.C. State, Purdue, Michigan, Xavier, Northwestern, DePaul, Wisconsin and others have offered.

Performance: Ranked No. 104 nationally in the class of 2017, Smith is primarily known for his flying dunks and transition finishing. At the Summer Jam, Smith did what he usually does but he also looked more comfortable as a jump shooter making some deep catch-and-shoot three-pointers.

My seat on the Paul Scruggs express train is getting hot. In fact I might want to just get off and transfer to the Trent Frazier train. They serve food on the Frazier train even if it is crow sandwiches.:)

The Frazier train welcomes you. On a different note-- if Indiana whiffs on both Scruggs & Wilkes, how much does that sting if you're a hoosier fan?!

Is he as good as we once thought he could be? His final 5 are all good, but not what I thought it could be.

Watch: 2018 PF Carte'Are Gordon Went To Work At The Peach Jam

2018 PF Carte'Are Gordon has the ability to completely change the flow and energy of games when he takes the court. His ability to crash the boards, run the court, deliver easy buckets at the rim and get to the free throw line are all reasons why his KD MOKAN Elite team left the Peach Jam as Champions. However, it's his ability to change the attitude on the court that sets him apart from other players. At just 16 years old he is often one of the youngest players on the court, but Gordon doesn't play like he's younger than most of his opponents. He won't be intimidated by anyone. His toughness and attitude seem to be contagious when he steps onto the court.

You might include Malik Williams and Jaren Jackson in that scenario, too. That's almost an entire lineup of 5-star recruits within puking distance.

Strange situation @ IU for 2017. Supposedly only 1 ship open (Hartman) for '017 and they take a verbal from an obscure 3*/top 150 guard--Al Durham.

Tornado does this mean we are gaining ground on Scruggs you think or we are losing on him and moving our full focus toward landing Frazier

This was before he got an offer from Kansas, but I like what he says at the end of the interview!

Full focus for Frazier. It's all over except the OV. Unfortunate, because Scruggs is an immediate impact Top 30 recruit we could really use in '017.

Losing ground on Scruggs.

Is this info from the Scruggs camp, or the apparent unwavering focus on Frazier? Frazier would still be an awesome consolation prize...

Tons of SMOKE of Scruggs to Xavier. Plus Groce has learned not to chase after a long shot when you have almost a sure commit.

Henricksen: Justin Smith’s steady climb, Markese Jacobs’ rapid rise and more from July

But the growth of Stevenson’s Justin Smith, a player ranked extremely high the moment he stepped foot into high school, continues. He still shows the upside and potential while flashing more substance on a consistent basis.

The uber-athletic 6-7 forward is fresh off a terrific weekend at the NY2LA Summer Jam, where he again showed progress. It’s been a gradual climb for the Hoops Report’s No. 3 ranked Illinois prospect in the Class of 2017. Now with an added bit of confidence and comfort level playing with his age group –– Smith has always played up a level throughout his high school and club basketball career –– he’s beginning to see a difference on the court.

You went strong for Scruggs. Who can blame you? I would love Scruggs. Maybe it will still work out, who knows...

No crow necessary on the Frazier bus. We are all responding to new information that we didn't have two weeks ago: That Frazier is even better than many of us expected, seems to be legit top 100, and also that he continues to sing of Illinois' as his #1. It's hard to resist hopping on this bus. But only beer and brats are being served.

Trent Frazier
The Suwanee Sports Academy is always a place where Trent Frazier shines. The diminutive combo guard just always seems to put on a show there, and for the second year in a row it was Frazier who stole the show at the Best of the South event.
Playing with Florida Elite, Frazier proved to be one of the most explosive guards in the country. He is absolutely tremendous off of ball screens, and also is a very good outside shooter.

While his first instinct is to score, Frazier showed that he does have very good floor vision, and is more than capable of making others better. Still his ability to get to the rim and use his dynamic quickness off of ball screens makes him one of the most intriguing players in the class.

Recruiting: Illinois is the big leader for Frazier, though schools like Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, and Cincinnati are also in pursuit.

Courtney Ramey
Courtney Ramey, a 6-foot-3 wiry guard out of Webster Groves (Mo.) High, was one of the most productive players at the NY2LA Summer Jam this week.

The 2018 prospect played an effective brand of basketball and showed a balanced game. He did a good job of facilitating and creating shots for teammates, while also mixing in scoring, including one game of five three-pointers.

Ramey has impressive vision and always has his head up looking to find teammates. He’s quick, plays at different speeds and is tough for the opposition to speed up. He’s already in Scout’s 2018 player rankings, but he made a strong case to move up the list.

Recruiting: Florida, Texas, Iowa, Mississippi, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri
