I doubt he would slow play a talent like Frazier. If Frazier wants to commit, you take him and thank your lucky stars. I know Scruggs is rated higher, but Frazier IMO is a fantastic fit for how Groce wants to play.

Groce isn't slowing playing Frazier, he's a top target for them and they'll push heavily for a commitment before he leaves campus. I think they've made that quite clear in how they've pursued him.

That's right before he starts school on 8/15, so it's convenient. I'm hoping to have some info the week before...

I agree. I thought a Sunday was a strange UV visit, but supposedly he doesn't have a UM offer (can you deny or confirm this??).

I agree with Smith/Lewis over John if he is the only big we can get...but if John wants to commit today, tomorrow, or any time before them, I would absolutely take him. He is a MAN, and we do not have many players with the toughness and rebounding potential that he has. Leron Black MAYBE, and John doesn't seem like that sort of headcase (here's to hoping Leron has smartened up about his anger).

Sorry but Leron > John in toughness, rebounding, and virtually every category minus physical build and maybe interior D. Otherwise John isn't even close to the kind of player Leron is.

I'll poke around...but probably won't know until next week.

Maybe Lefty can respond to this, but supposedly Belein does not make offers until after an athlete has made a visit. Most recent examples, Eastern and Wilkes.

Well I darn sure hope that going into year three in the program, Leron Black is a better player right now than a high schooler. My point was that we don't have many bangers like John on the roster, and that his potential to be a productive college player in the rebounder/interior presence role is very high.

I will concede that Black was also a better player coming out of HS than John is. Maybe I exaggerated in my argument that we should accept a hypothetical commitment from him ;)

If Frazier and either Lewis or Smith, and any of the Bigs we are after want to commit we will take them and still take Goodwin Then worry about things come April

Do we have any idea when some of the bugs we are recruiting are planning on announcing?

That would be cool. Edgar from 'Men In Black' would be a beast around the boards.

I agree, extremely unlikely. But if Scruggs is really interested in Illinois then Groce has a tough decision to make. Slow playing a kid you want is like playing with fire.

I think the only way he would slow play Frazier is if he is confident that he already has 2 PG's in Lucas and Williams. Or he is 99% sure he will get Scruggs.

Anyone here ever have a 6 ask what they are doing on a Friday only you don't give her a straight answer because you're waiting to see what the 9 is doing but then the 9 blows you off so you text the 6 back to see if you're still on but she's already made other plans so you go out and get drunk with your buddies and end up with a 3? Happens to me almost every weekend. :thumb:

Those are what I like to call "the good ole days". Landed myself a quality girl, but the good ole slow playing the 6 hoping for the 9/10 and landing a 2 am 9 which happens to be a 3-5... Classic ..wait is this recruiting related?

Best post ever! I'm guessing from the one time I've been on campus that you met the 3 at KAMS but still had a great time!
