I never count this as bad news, per se. I don't know, maybe all this CB smoke means something. I hope so.

Don't believe the hype. The only time the crystal ball is somewhat reliable is about 24-48 hours before a commitment, but even then it can be wrong. We just saw it on the football side with Avery where we did not have a single crystal ball to Illinois and was 93% TCU and 7% Oklahoma.

Speaking of 8th graders... I spent last weekend watching my son's team play in an 8th grade tournament in Deerfield. There was a team there from Michigan I believe that had a kid that must of been 6'8". Kind of lanky but, not skinny by any means. Could handle the ball. He had 3 pretty much coast to coast dunks where he had to dribble through some traffic to get free. He could also step out and hit a three. I say they were from Michigan because the team went by "Spartans" and they wore MSU green uniforms. If that kid doesn't have several college offers already I would be shocked.

I missed it that N-G last Sunday said Finke's final 5 are ND, Vandy, Oregon, tOSU and Illinois.

Tarheels just picked up a Jeremiah Francis, a 6'3" guard out of Ohio. (2019)

I think Finke lands at ND. ND has done well with players with Finke's skill set.
What exactly is Finke's skillset?

He was seen as a good sized SG/SF. A little on the slow side but good shooter. This summer his shooting has been subpar. So now he is a below average athlete (for D1 recruits) wing that may be a below average shooter. He's still got the good size though.

My guess would be his early struggles got into his head and killed his confidence, but it could be he topped out his potential and others are passing him up.

He's still clearly a D1 recruit, but at this point maybe ISU makes more sense. I'd predict he ends up at OSU though.

I've never been impressed with little Finke when I've watched him play all 3 times. His shot needs consistency and his handles are very loose. He's definitely the better athlete when compared to Michael. I never thought there was anyway Michael could play in the B1G but he has proved me wrong, and will shine this season. Tim will turn out to be an okay college player but he's just never impressed me when I've seen average high school players hold their own against him.

Only reason he wants Ayo is in case Moore has a great year and goes NBA. He needs bigs, Zion and Dotson would be great duo, but I think they will go to NC. IMO. Griffin said he waiting for his dream school, then he would change his schedule. Guess we not his dream school?

Dotson will not be going to UNC. When Coby White committed to the Tar Heels, Dotson threw shade about that. Most feel Zion will be going to Kentucky or Dook. UNC probably won't make too 3 for him. Probably a Clemson (local school) UK Dook battle.

Clemson would be close to home too. Anywhere but UK.:thumb:

KSU is oversigned by 1, plus I didn't see them listed in the N-G article as one of his top 5. KSU has not offered Finke.

I was referring to someone wanting a 4 man class full of SG's #WingU
