Here is Ayo's current list: KU, Illinois, Memphis, Oklahoma State, USC, North Carolina State, Xavier, Creighton, Wake Forest, UConn and New Mexico.

It's not clear to me if KU is recruiting Ayo as a point guard. If so, the path there is not as clear:

Devon Dotson, a 6-foot-1 senior from Providence Day High School in Charlotte, N.C., who is ranked No. 35 in the Class of 2018 by Rivals.com, will visit KU on Aug. 25-27, sources confirmed on Wednesday . . .There’s been talk that a Dotson commitment might also help KU land No. 3-ranked Zion Williamson, a 6-6 senior forward from Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School.

One thing Ayo doesn't lack is motivation:

"When I see rankings and I feel like I'm not as high, I say, 'I'm Coming' -- I'm coming for the top. And 'Why Not Me' -- why can't I be great, why can't I be a McDonald's All-American? Why not?" says the 17 year-old.

Dosunmu’s actual first name is Quam. It honors his father and grandfather’s Nigerian heritage and appropriately means “to go forward” in Yoruba.

“I want to be looked up to by the next generation of kids. I want them to look up to me and say, 'I want to be like Ayo'," Dosunmu says.

Ayo will come down to KU, ILL, Xavier. Interesting to see NW not even make Ayo top 11, but someone like NM does?

THT and Ayo have no beef with each other and have recently been texting again.

Still think they wind up at different schools, but good too see they're communicating.

We only B1G listed, surprised he released it . Top 5 at Halloween?

That list is pretty weak IMO. You can obviously eliminate some schools right off the bat.

I know his current favorites are ILL, KU, and Xavier, but I think that the other 2 spots in the Top 5 would be up for grabs.

Summer Ball is done, back to school. Don't think either one had problem, more like someone making an issue. Be interesting to see how this all shakes out, maybe one of these 2 will verbal soon. IMO I don't think either will before signing date.;)

How is Xavier recruiting so well these last 4 years? What is the draw to their school?

No state in the university's name. States tax us, make us follow silly laws, etc. Plus the letter X. If we could sneak an X or a Z into Illini somewhere (or a mascot's name), we'd be a hit.

As of this weekend, someone who knows Talen said they have not been in any kind of communication. Not because Talen hasn't tried.
If that's changed this week, I'm happy -- for them as much as for what it could mean for us. You shouldn't lose friends from childhood over adult nonsense.

Yeah it's almost like he was trying to stretch his list of schools to 11 for some reason... Could it be an homage to Dee Brown?

That is just what I heard, and with THT retweeting Ayo's top 11 last night, I tend to think things may be on the up and up with them.

Couldn't agree more, shouldn't lose a friendship over adults and AAU programs.

Ayo does not come across as excited about us anymore.

Does that me he has cooled on our Illini?

Or is he building the suspense for the reveal??

The joys of recruiting.....

He has been very reserved about all schools in my opinion

It's not just the last 4 years. Since 2001 their coaches have been Thad Matta, Sean Miller and Chris Mack. Since 2008 they've made 2 Elite Eights and 4 Sweet Sixteens. They're in a conference that's ranked ahead of the B1G the last 2 years. They're what we're aspiring to be.
As hotdogvendor says they win games and take long tourney runs. And I would add, have great coaching.

Im not too worried yet. Do think that ILL are the one to beat in this one.

If I had to guess, he will put out a top 5. Those being ILL, KU, Xavier, Creighton, and the 5th is anyones guess.

In his interview he was extremely respectful, and mindful that schools are putting in a lot of effort, where only 1 will be rewarded. Seems like it's overwhelming and a distraction from his bball, but he's going through the process with false drama.

Whether or not he chooses Illinois, it's good to see him handling it so well.

Like I said before, it wasn't a THT-Ayo thing.i it's THT and/or his camp and the Irvin's. But Ayo remains true to the Irvin's so...

Anybody else notice there is a jk next to the Kansas picture of Ayo?

Yes it know it is the creator of the picture, but I found it funny

Very well stated, that is exactly what has happened.

I imagine you're joking, but Ayo wears #11.

Any chance we get a commit this month?

I don't see any verbals this month, although I hope I'm wrong. It's somewhat of a national set of dominoes. Some of our recruits are impacted by what other players do we are not even recruiting. If a commitment happens, my sense is it will be Conditt. My guess is 1 commitment in September and 2, possibly 3, in October. It could be a long 8-10 weeks.
