Tilmon will likely announce his decision in the next few days. I think what the rest of the class does holds a lot of weight. These guys have built a pretty good relationship. If one is gone, another might jump ship as well. Underwood has some work to do.

But all said, I think Tilmon is ours.

DaMonte is who we should worry about.

Just to point out a few reasons why he would/might consider Mizzou.

-Cuonzo is highly regarded in the ESL area.
_Cuonzo's sister is the assistant principal at Tilmon's school.
-Chance to play with the #1 player in the country and his highly rated brother.
-I imagine Mizzou will also get some other highly rated recruits for the same reasons.

Michael porter has said that hed like to play college with trae young (oklahoma commit). I dont know if he would go to missouri instead of oklahima but thats another highly rated recruit that could join them.

I think it is unlikely but possible for sure. Young has had a few cryptic tweets recently but kids are weird and that usually doesn't mean anything.

From a distance I thought Mr. Bean was interviewing them lol.

Kusumano does look just like Mr Bean there... isn't he the guy that is pretty anti-Illinois/ultra-pro SLU & Mizzou?

Yes. I'm not sure what insight to gain from the fact he's talking to Underwood and Fahey. Just not familiar enough with the guy and his show.

Porter just committed to mizzou

Cuonzo had elite elite talent at Cal and didn't do much with it. Bring it on.

Braggin rights will be fun though! Kipper v Porter?

I wouldn't characterize him as anti-Illinois. He's just very pro-SLU and pro-Mizzou, largely due to the fact that he has been a sportscaster in St. Louis, a very pro-SLU and pro-Mizzou town, for 20+ years.

Shocking no one...ever.

Is this that one piece they were missing this last season to win the SEC? No! They were in last place. Every team will know they just have to stop him. I hope Tilmon Sees this as a chance to play against and beat the number one player.

Gotcha, thanks :thumb:

What's the % breakdown of fans in STL between Illinois and Mizzou? Is it 65-35? Worse?

Not sure about fans in STL city, probably way more for Mizzou than that, but a large part of the viewing area for the STL media is on the east side where its mostly Illini fans. The biggest issue with the coverage has nothing to do with the fans its that like 80% of the STL media graduated from Mizzou school of journalism.

The Porter thing isn't remotely surprising, but man I was hoping Mizzou dropped the ball on that one.

In places like Nebraska, Alabama, Oklahoma... the media can usually solely focus on the Hometowners. But in places like Chicago and St. Louis, you have more than one State and a more varied group of eyeballs to appeal to. That adds complexity. This is where the relevance of any given team and the biases of the media programmers comes into view. This again is why the current course of the Illini is so encouraging.

Their solid recent hires, the improving fortunes of the money sports programs, and the laying of a prosperous foundation will demand greater media exposure in the crowded media markets. It's hard for anybody to notice you when you aren't doing anything worthy of getting noticed. Cardinals, Blues, and MoTigers have dominated St. Louis. Chicago pro sports teams, Northwestern, and Notre Dame are always going to be penciled into the newscast. Now they have to make room for the Illini. Some of the new media hires might need to pull out a map to find Champaign now if they didn't know where it was. Oh, I forgot. They don't use maps anymore.
