I don't think rookies who go to Europe from losing teams, sign contracts in the 6 figure range... Correct me if I'm wrong...

Why would you think it relevant to a European club that a kid's team won or lost? They're looking for talent. Basketball is a team sport and they certainly know that one guy can't win games by himself.

I follow European basketball pretty closely and Leron going pro in Europe makes zero sense, will not happen, that's Illini message board wishful thinking. There will very little interest for someone like Black from European clubs that pay well.

If he does leave, he will likely go to a college basketball contender where he can improve his status. He will be a very highly sought 5th year transfer and receive interest from multiple P5 schools.

I guess what I can't get past is he is already at a P5 school. Has anyone ever graduate-transferred laterally? I am truly interested to know. The cases I am aware of are playing coming from mid-majors who want one year to prove they can hang in D1.

Just this past year, Cameron Johnson left Pitt for UNC. Cullen Neal left Ole Miss for St. Mary's. Some kid left Texas Tech for LSU. At least in the first two instances, they ultimately went to better teams. But they were in fact leaving P5 schools.

If Leron were to leave, he'd have LOTS of options. Heck, I'd bet some of the blue bloods who are losing a ton of 1-and-done kids would be interested in a B1G player who averaged 15 points/game. If nothing else, he would give them great depth.

He could probably go almost anywhere.

Courtney Ramey continues to add interest

In terms of a timeline for a college choice, Ramey, who had originally committed to Louisville, but decommitted in September following Rick Pitino’s dismissal, is planning to decide within the next two months.

“It probably won’t be until sometime late March or April,” Ramey said.

“I think we’re in a good spot because we don’t know who is going to leave as far as coaches and players situations, so we’re going to look at all of that because we don’t want to go through the process all over again so we’re really just being careful,” he added.

Does anyone here know the back story on Jones's move from Chandler AZ to Culver City, CA? Seems odd that he would transfer for his senior year to what is a pretty much nothing program here in the LA area. I presume that the move was for family reasons. It is curious that none of the several quality private school programs near Culver City (Crossroads, Windward, Harvard-Westlake) extended him a free ride. The private schools scoop up every talent on the Westside of LA. I honestly can't think of a high major prospect from the west side of town that attended public school over the past decade.

Jones and Kane both going to be on campus. Going to be a big weekend.:shield:

Hopefully, Ayo is able to come down for a little while. :thumb:

Ayo, Jones, Ramey, Trice, Kane.:D
Don't forget Griffin, who has actually committed already, unlike the last 4 people you listed... :thumb:

I haven't forgot about him.

I was referring to the rumor I heard that all of those players could possibly be on campus this weekend...:shield:

(do not know if it is true or not)

I like Samba Kane. Would be fun to compare him to Castleton over the next four years.

At least the weather is suppose to be decent over the weekend, as in no snow. Though will probably be a shock for both Jones & Kane.

Hopefully Underwood and staff push for a commitment. Would go a long way to change the narrative on the MS situation.

Great we are finally getting some visits but it feels hard to believe being here on selection Sunday will be a good experience

I'll definitely take Samba Kane, I'm also really like Tevian Jones. Both of them would go a long ways towards making this a good class. Jones is atheletic and can shoot. Samba Kane has length and it looks like a descent shot. Which would help tremendously next year. Those would be my two priorities. Valdir would be a nice get also.

Off the wall question : since Ramey committed once already, is he still limited to five total visits?

Article mentioned two visits thus far, Ok State and Texas (I think) Assuming he visited Louisville prior to committing, it appears this visit does not affect total.

So, since he is a decommit (he didn't sign iirc) does his visit clock reset?

Which coaches are on the hot seat from the list he gave? I don't think our chances are great...let's hope I'm wrong.

He has three OV's remaining from my understanding. Mizzou will not get one.
