I mean, a little different to hire a HS coach at a school like Buffalo vs a P5 school. Also would be a huge coincidence that the coach he liked so much all of a sudden also happens to coach the 5 star recruit he's getting involved with at the 11th hour.
Yeah...I really dont think Hurley is nefarius on this, but if he sees a HS coach that impresses him he is more inclined to pounce. Looked up the potential assistant hire and he founded his own bball development company and seems impressive. Hurley seems to have a good eye for asst coaches....And he has a cool name..."Coach Dash"

Oh, now I get it, he hired him because of his cool name. 🤷‍♂️

It's truly amazing anyone ever hired Mike Krzyzewski to coach.

I haven't seen this yet as I've been scrolling through these pages, but does anyone remember Sergio McClain? Would we have gotten him had Bruce Weber not hired his dad, Wayne McClain, as associate head coach? Or Jerry Hester, Marcus Griffin, or Frank Williams, all of whom were coached by McClain at Peoria Manual? Sometimes, athletes develop special relationships with their coaches, and they want that to continue. Weber certainly struck gold with that Manual recruiting connection. Hurley probably decided that Enoch was the guy to turn the program around, so he did what he had to in order to get him.
There's one glaring hole in your story.

Bill Self hired Wayne McClain, years after Sergio, Marcus, and Frankie had already committed. In fact Sergio committed to Lon Kruger.

Actually, Hester was here and gone a few years before Bill Self hired McClain. Coach McClain won several state titles and was a legend in Illinois HS coaching circles. He Had the credentials and a reputation as an awesome defensive coach.

On Coach Dash...just caught my eye...and no I dont think that has anything to do with him as a potential hire by Hurley.

BOTTOM LINE, Hurley hired a guy from HS ranks 8 years ago....and now that guy is NCAA Coach of the year ..Nate Oats.

So with that background, why is it unfathomable that Hurley would legitimately hire another HS coach as an assistant?

I get it that we are frustrated we lost a recruit...and maybe it is a gimmick Hurley play, but the evidence is only suspicion and circumstantial at this point.

Aarman Franklin shot 42% from 3 last year playing 30 minutes a game in Sean Miller's "offense".

I mean conversations are going on all over the place with everyone right now but I've been told they've at least conversed to some extent and there is mutual interest to talk more.

Franklin would be a sweet get. I think he’s a player. Don’t really want Marcus Carr. He takes the ball out of Belo and Miller’s hands and does nothing for the future of this program. If EJ Liddell transferred here I’d poop my pants. Krutwig too, though not sure why he’d do it after manhandling us

So much inaccurate in here. Holy geez..where to start!?
McClain, Williams and Griffin all committed to Kruger. Wayne continued coaching at Manual for a few more years after that. Jerry Hester committed so long ago he committed to Lou Henson and played for Kruger as well. Weber didn’t get anywhere near those guys.
I see what you’re trying to say but like, none of the examples are accurate.

But can you imagine a big with his skill plus a year with Fletch? He'd be like 8 feet tall.

Is there no issue transferring within conference? I feel like this never used to happen
No longer. The old rule years ago was that a player who transferred within the conference had to sit out two years.
