Yeah...I really dont think Hurley is nefarius on this, but if he sees a HS coach that impresses him he is more inclined to pounce. Looked up the potential assistant hire and he founded his own bball development company and seems impressive. Hurley seems to have a good eye for asst coaches....And he has a cool name..."Coach Dash"I mean, a little different to hire a HS coach at a school like Buffalo vs a P5 school. Also would be a huge coincidence that the coach he liked so much all of a sudden also happens to coach the 5 star recruit he's getting involved with at the 11th hour.
Oh, now I get it, he hired him because of his cool name.Yeah...I really dont think Hurley is nefarius on this, but if he sees a HS coach that impresses him he is more inclined to pounce. Illinois is talking to an Indiana guard right now who's definitely listening.
Franklin?Illinois is talking to an Indiana guard right now who's definitely listening.
Keith Smart?Illinois is talking to an Indiana guard right now who's definitely listening.
There's one glaring hole in your story.I haven't seen this yet as I've been scrolling through these pages, but does anyone remember Sergio McClain? Would we have gotten him had Bruce Weber not hired his dad, Wayne McClain, as associate head coach? Or Jerry Hester, Marcus Griffin, or Frank Williams, all of whom were coached by McClain at Peoria Manual? Sometimes, athletes develop special relationships with their coaches, and they want that to continue. Weber certainly struck gold with that Manual recruiting connection. Hurley probably decided that Enoch was the guy to turn the program around, so he did what he had to in order to get him.
Sorry that was unclear. IU.High school or IU???
Actually, Hester was here and gone a few years before Bill Self hired McClain. Coach McClain won several state titles and was a legend in Illinois HS coaching circles. He Had the credentials and a reputation as an awesome defensive coach.I haven't seen this yet as I've been scrolling through these pages, but does anyone remember Sergio McClain? Well then it's Franklin or Stewart, right? Franklin is solid, not great. Don't know much about Stewart. Both good bench pieces at least.Sorry that was unclear. IU.
On Coach Dash...just caught my eye...and no I dont think that has anything to do with him as a potential hire by Hurley.Oh, now I get it, he hired him because of his cool name.
It's truly amazing anyone ever hired Mike Krzyzewski to coach.
We’re finally going to get Guyton?Illinois is talking to an Indiana guard right now who's definitely listening.
Agreed he needs to leave and find a better fit.... even if not hereFranklin is very solid. 12 points a game and 42% from the arc. Don’t know much about Stewart.
I think you’re severely underrating Franklin. I think he will shine getting away from that dumpster fire.Well then it's Franklin or Stewart, right? Franklin is solid, not great. Don't know much about Stewart. Both good bench pieces at least.
I don’t see any coach or program blocking a player from any specific school this year with everything that’s happened. Also helps when your program is currently looking for a coach. Is there no issue transferring within conference? I feel like this never used to happen
Sean even had his mitts on Archie's players??? /s Just when I thought he couldn't stoop any lower.Aarman Franklin shot 42% from 3 last year playing 30 minutes a game in Sean Miller's "offense".
I mean conversations are going on all over the place with everyone right now but I've been told they've at least conversed to some extent and there is mutual interest to talk more.
So much inaccurate in here. Holy geez..where to start!?I haven't seen this yet as I've been scrolling through these pages, but does anyone remember Sergio McClain? Franklin would be a sweet get. I think he’s a player. Don’t really want Marcus Carr. He takes the ball out of Belo and Miller’s hands and does nothing for the future of this program. If EJ Liddell transferred here I’d poop my pants. Krutwig too, though not sure why he’d do it after manhandling us
No longer. The old rule years ago was that a player who transferred within the conference had to sit out two years. Is there no issue transferring within conference? I feel like this never used to happen
