I would like to see some games from his other stops ...
I agree with you there, GloryDays!

For player evaluation purposes, full games are better than highlight vids,
...and high school games may be better than AAU games in terms of intensity, team preparation, and team chemistry,
...but AAU games may have higher quality opposition than high school games.

It's tough to evaluate a player when I'm a casual message board follower and YouTube is my primary resource!
Still, I'm glad I get to come online and pretend I'm a coach/GM. Ha ha

I understand caution flags from seemingly uninspired play (albeit from very sparse clips), but does anyone think that's what's going to happen here? I certainly don't. Not if the kid wants to play.
Also the fact that we’re offering him EARLY. If BU was offering him in late summer before his freshman year because we have an extra spot, he’d seem like a flyer (Vesel, Ebo, etc.). But he’s offering him 1.5 years out before we have a single player in the class of 22. Have to assume that the staff feels very good about him.

If you listen to Bardo, Gill, and Nick talk about Lou....it's exactly the same. If you don't play defense, you'll never see the court.
BU knows what he's doing, and he's surrounded himself with great people.

Great comparison!

A 6' 5" version of Trent or CJ Walker is a very good piece to have.

Can't count on Curbelo being here 4 years, so it's good roster management too.

Don't see going after Bass if we are after Burnette, TyTy, Pods. Like Tre Mitchell, that would be a nice stretch 4.
What if NB and TyTy have already committed but said they are only staying 1 year no matter what draft stock looks like. We will need '22 guards

Any concern with Elevation prep as a school? I believe ncaa has had some clearing issues with new type basketball schools before. Would hope this is checked out...if he’s a 22 should be more than enough time to get this info.

Bass is a '22 so it wouldn't affect this class.
Also - Bass will be well within the top 100 when all is said and done. Doesn't hurt that Underwood is in love with his character.

Covid has limited exposure of the guys outside top 50 right now in 2022. There is going to be serious movement over the next year.

This doesn't exactly fit this thread, but what stopped Winston from going pro early? Seems like Curbelo is on a similar if not better trajectory. I'd assume 3 pt stroke at this point.

You can never have too many PGs. I'd rather force a PG to play off ball than vice versa, especially after living through the Tate era here.

I think Bass is a smart move. Everyone on here obviously wants superstars, but we need player development as well. Look where we would be this year without Trent and Monte. You need these types of guys that know the system and can stick around more than 1-2 years.

Winston never could create off the dribble like Curbelo can right now. Plus Belo is quicker and a better defender IMO

Winston: Good athlete, not great. Struggled on defense against high level athletes. At 6'1", he is a little on the short side.

Obviously, a really smart player who can knock down shots and rarely turn it over. His ceiling in the NBA was and is as a backup.

Curbelo has a long way to go shooting the ball to be a comp for Winston. Andre, however, is a more explosive athlete. Much higher ceiling. We will see if the shot develops, and whether or not he takes better care of the ball. Andre is still a little handsy on defense, which occasionally leads to trouble. He needs to pick his spots a little better when going after steals.

Totally agree on the PG. It is really hard to win without someone to orchestrate your offense, even if you have high level talent. Ask Cal down at UK....
