Hosting 2018 big George Conditt from Corliss according to Scott Burgess. He's a kid that has a lot of maturing to do physically, but there is some skill there. And of course, you can't teach 6'11''.

Nice find. I'm excited to see this kid play at some point. He'll likely need a couple years in a college weight/diet program before he's ready to be a big contributor at the B1G level, but he's intriguing. No P5 offers yet, but unofficials to Illinois and Purdue will get him on the map. It'll be an interesting recruitment since he seems determined to stay at Corliss and Team RWA. Not basketball powerhouses to say the least.

The last Big George we took from Corliss worked out fine. If this is Underwood's choice and he bites, I'm confident Conditt will also make an impact here.

George Montgomery. Assistant coach at my high school for a bit. Heard he's Javale Mcgee's dad but never found out for sure. Super nice dude.

It will be interesting to see what Bigs we pursue in 2018. Obviously Ayo and THT seem to be priorities, along with Ignas Brazdeikis. But we really need 3-4 solid options at PF/C to show up and right now it's looking light.

De Sousa, Udeze, Sow, Castelton, Conditt; look to be our targets right now for '18 inside players. I'm sure someone will see the opportunity here:illinois:

Willie Coleman new coach at Peoria Manual.

Coleman was a one-time Illini recruit who spent about 2 weeks on campus before bailing on the summer bridge program.

George Conditt video. I like this young man' s mindset. If he keeps working then I have no problem with an offer. Given he admires loyalty maybe we extend one, with a potential red shortness discussions to gain weight??

yeah from watching he would be a good pick up if we could afford to let him sit a year and train with fletch. I will say for 6-10 or so he has fairly good handle on the ball

See what happens tomorrow, maybe we can see some movement on a big from '17 , if things change right away. School out for summer soon, nice to get some enrolled for summer bb activity:illinois:.

Texas has emerged as a legitimate landing spot for five-star prospect Brian Bowen, per a source. Oregon, UCLA, Creighton, and DePaul in mix.

Bowen comes back from a trip to Oregon, said he really liked the campus and staff. We hear next , Texas is the favorite. Not sure what he wants to do, but I think DePaul still in mix. Crazy recruitment for sure.

I don't know why Texas wouldn't be a leading candidate for any recruit. You can do a lot worse than spending a year or 4 in Austin, especially if you don't have to stay on campus all summer.

It might be easier to say who is NOT a potential landing spot for Bowen. Maybe the weirdest recruitment I've ever seen, and I've seen plenty of weird ones.

Especially since half the people reporting on it keep calling him Bruce Bowen.

I had a High School classmate that attended Hawaii on a basketball scholarship many, many years ago. He told me that once you've seen all the touristy stuff, and gotten used to the nice surroundings, it's very isolating and lonely. Can't just decide to go home on a weekend. Christmas and Summer, otherwise you're trapped in a very small (albeit beautiful) environment. I would understand recruits being hesitant about attending.

That's like saying marrying Kate Upton would be a life sentence. Personally I'll take trapped.

Anyone hear anything more about LJ Figueroa? A year ago, Antigua was sitting courtside recruiting him. Now he's available again. I have to assume Illinois is interested and has contacted LJ.

Having been stationed there for 4.5 years. I have to say that I never got bored. Still don't get bored after going back every other year since 2004. There is just so much to see and do. The history is as breathtaking as the scenery. Anyone know that there is a 2nd sunken WWII battleship in the harbor? What's the name?
