Anyone hear anything more about LJ Figueroa? A year ago, Antigua was sitting courtside recruiting him. Now he's available again. I have to assume Illinois is interested and has contacted LJ.

I am pretty sure Figueroa has not even been cleared academically to play next year.

Showed up early for college per other forums....I'd say that would not be an issue?

NMSU has a branch community college that some players attend instead of prep school that can be a cheaper alternative improve GPA or get enough credits.

I think you will see that is the reason he does not have any scholarship offers currently, but I guess we shall see.

Correct! Thanks for playing. Most people don't know about the wreck, let alone the name.

It doesn't get mentioned because it wasn't commissioned at the time. I believe it was decked out to look like a carrier from the air and had a small maintenance crew onboard at the time of the attack. It's part of the tour they give. Interesting story if you care to look it up.

With JCL transferring this does open up a scholarship for us. I am hearing a lot of things about how if JCL lands at Notre Dame, that really affects Tim Finke, with JCL leaving this really changes things on the recruiting trail as well.

I am thinking as of right now we will get a big man for this year, either Akoy Agau or Kavell Bigby Williams, and then for 2018 we will have Ayo, THT, and have 2 open for other players.

I really hate to see JCL go, but this just helps BU on the recruiting trail.

Williams hasn't asked for transfer and will have to sit. Coleby is a prospect from Kansas , big guy, looks slow but could work. WKU is hot on him. Still looking for '17 recruit, big man. Could come from anywhere, as long as he wants to work and play hard to win.:illinois:

I know a lot of people here believe everyone fits BU's system but if there was ever a guy that didn't it would be Coleby.

unless we sign another 2017 we will have 5 open for 2018, so unless Agau joins and gets a 2nd year, even with THT and Ayo we will have 3 left in 2018. I do think we will get at least 1 bigger body this year, but really hoping for 2. Agau would be the best hope cause if he could get 2 years would put that ship back in 2019

EJ Liddell yes, 2019 recruit gonna sign. :congrats::congrats:

Wow, no OV's or anything. This would be awesome. I seem to remember several mentions of him visiting UI a few times though. Maybe the kid just knows what he wants and sees where we are headed and wants his spot locked up. Fine with me! :D

Oh, sure, but there are two pieces of good news: Liddell is interested, and Mark Smith is helping recruit. No way am I expecting an early commitment, but it's nice news all the same.

I think the other way if he is going to commit I do expect it to be early. but yeah I only posted it for the first 2 reasons. NOW if Trent would post something similar then look out

EJ didn't need alot of recruiting , what I seen, he has wanted Illinois from the get go. Sure verbal is soon, maybe staff will discourage signing till next year, nice to see him so anxious, and Smith so helpful.:chief:

I'm pretty sure he can't sign a letter of intent until his senior year of HS.

WHAT am I missing here? I don't see anything from EJ about being anxious to be an Illini or that he wants to committ. Just mark tweeting and EJ retweeting.

Seems like normal twitter recruiting fun. MArk wants Ej to join him and for fans to send him love.

Why would they do that?
