So while we're waiting on this recruit possibility or that one, and wondering whether it's proper phone etiquette for the HS school coach to call back the college coach or vice versa, maybe we could work on settling the Ginger versus MaryAnn debate? It's MaryAnn, amiright?

Maryanne, yes!

Mary Ann, and she still looks good.;)

Thinking this ' 17 recruiting may last longer, since we have openings, depending on transfer outcome. Us looking for a big would seem to same priority. Will need at least 3 schollies for '18, so that kinda hinders that part on '17. This why coach BU and staff get paid the big money. I convinced they have a plan, be nice if things would move to see it in action. Still think we gonna have another transfer out B4 school starts.:illinois:

As I recall, Mary Ann was the girl you wanted to marry, and Ginger the girl you wanted to...

I did marry a brunette named Mary Ann. And one of my daughters has a dog named Ginger. So take that for what it's worth.

Dogs are considered man's best friend, as well, so there you go. Anyway, back on topic, hopefully the coaching staff will do their best to bring on another recruit that will commit soon.

I think its sort of cool that Brad Underwood didn't let the miscommunication fester. Obviously saw the O'Brien article and immediately solved the issue.

It will be interesting to see what Bigs we pursue in 2018. Obviously Ayo and THT seem to be priorities, along with Ignas Brazdeikis. But we really need 3-4 solid options at PF/C to show up and right now it's looking light.

Michigan seems like the team to beat for Brazdeikis with Stauskas trying to get him to go there.

I think BU is changing the culture. UoI is the center of attraction. It will take time, but the ball is rolling.

Yes, I hope so. We shouldn't be catering to the various HS coaches around the state. It's one thing to have a strong mutually beneficial relationship, it's entirely another when some HS power programs think that UI should be beholden to them for some reason.

I've heard he's really good. Lot of potential. Have not seen him play yet. He is from the 618, and it's great to hear a kid in our region coming over to visit. While the focus is on the Metro East, there's other good players that could play in Underwood's system outside the Metro in the 618.

Du Quoin is actually in a competitive conference in the SIRR. 2A and 3A schools in the mix.

my thought was Duquoin wasnt too competitive in their conference. Their conference usually produces a team that competes in the state finals in 2a basketball. Massac Country, Murphysboro, Benton ,Harrisburg , Pinkneyville and Nashvillealmost all have played lately in state championship competition. (though that has changed a little with the realignment of classes ... which I think was aimed at SIRR) nonetheless ,Duquoin more known exclusively as a football town. though they have ahad a couple decent hoops teams lately.

I'm not sure, but think Bowens is not a chance, did he even say date to commit? Think he's like only top 5 left. Was at Oregon over weekend. Amazing what a final 4 trip does for recruitment. :D:D
