With how things have been with Illini sports, I would say shock value of about -5 on a 1-10 scale. Seems like just about anything can happen here, and most of it has already LOL

Yep. I don't want to say too much here, because it's all rumors and speculation at this point, but it involves a certain player that recently announced that he is transferring.
Tough to crack that code.

i had heard thru a source back in the day that Heirman was interested in the Simeon job, so the DJW transfer does make a little more sense if he was involved.

In this case, I just don't want to spread rumors about a coach based on totally unsubstantiated info and speculation. Regardless, it doesn't really matter all that much. What matters is that I don't think we're likely to get many kids from LaLu in the near future.
I wasn't sure what to make of this because after talking about illinois she said "what other schools are recruiting you?" and then rephrased to say who have you developed the best relationships with. So when I watched it the first time it didn't seem weird for him not to mention us. It all depends on if how she started to phrase it impacted how he eventually answered, which I think is very realistically possible.
From what I have heard, Bowen's top 5 that he previously released is no more. New final 5 is Texas, Oregon, Depaul, Louisville, and Creighton.
It wasn't a Simeon or Peoria pipeline, but I understand. Maybe over time old wounds will heal. Hopefully wins will help too....
I'm pretty sure Louisville has already said they aren't taking anyone else this cycle.
After talking about Illinois the reporter asked what other schools have you built relationships with. And he answered. No big deal.
