I wonder how this all affects 2018. At this point, it seems like they will have to go all in on a wing and guard as we suddenly have some bodies up front. Attrition seems to happen every year so I guess it's not inconceivable that someone else may want to leave after next year as we saw with Groce after his first year. I'm just wondering if the staff is going to aggressively pursue guys like Condit or Snow in 2018 after signing 2 bigs this year.

The first three commits for BU have been Mr. Basketball, a 2/3 star, and a no star. This is exactly what he eluded to in his introduction press conference, and it's kind of nice to trust him a little bit, especially after how Groce had us all ready for nut punches all of the time.

Would have preferred another grad transfer instead, but having warm bodies is never an issue.

It may slightly affect recruiting, but I think worrying about having too many players is a much better position to be in than the converse.

There's still room for 2 more grads if any out there are interested. I liked getting another FR in this class, but any more might keep the classes out of balance. Having 3 schollies for next season seems like a good plan.

What's impressive is that Underwood said we needed big guys and our two new assistants went out and got one each. Just like that. And guys they evaluated and like. Not just anybody.

He eluded to getting a Mr. Basketball and a couple unknowns??

How do you know this? They could just be back plan projects to give Underwood time to get a better PF/C.

I really hope we're able to find room for both Finke and THT. Seems like we could easily fit both on the roster. I hope they see it that way.

Not even up for dispute. You take them both if you are lucky enough to get them. Can you imagine anyone even remotely disagreeing with that 3 months ago before Underwood and his staff raised our expectations with their stealth recruiting methods?

I agree you take both, but I think we will be lucky to get 2 out of Ayo, THT, Finke and Big George. That said I think our best shot is Big George

If I had a beach house, I would bet it that the staff evaluated these players and liked them before they offered :)

Obviously...but "liked" is a very broad term. Groce liked Tate enough to give him an offer. This could very well be the same scenario. Groce desperately needed a PG, BU desperately needed big guys. When you're desperate, you reach out a little further.
