He didnt say it directly, but implied it. Nothing different than what's been discussed here already.

Basically that he "thinks that's what going to happen...or has happened." Also brought up Tilmon leaving La Lu as an indicator.

It's a shame that a kid feels that he can not go to school wherever he wants to.

It's a shame that a kid feels that he can not go to school wherever he wants to.

Just because these are internet celebrities who are 6'8" doesn't mean they aren't still 17 year olds. Letting kids choose colleges totally independent of other influences would be great for schools with hot girls and great weather, but would be disastrous for the Cornell's of the world.

I wanted to go to UNLV once. My parents quickly disabused me of that notion.

When you're dealing with an AAU coach who is personally being paid under the table to pressure a player and than money doesn't flow back to a kid and his family, that's shameful. But when the family wants to put a kid in an environment they can control, or accept financial benefits that will improve their lives including the kid, that's just rational decision making.

Okay, so we've just gotta have JT listen to the miniature JP on his shoulder and not the miniature TF on the other shoulder.

Apologies if already posted, but some more in depth quotes from Pickett about the situation.

"He knows where his home is at. I feel he still wants to go there. There really are no worries we should have."

"I could see why some people are nervous that he didn't sign today or that he's not going to sign this week but there's nothing really to worry about. Everything is fine. So, like I said, there's nothing to worry about so we're alright."

Then again, Tilmon was confident about Goodwin coming here. Who knows at this point.

For clarification sake, you surely are not saying that it is "just rational decision making" if they break rules and NCAA regulations are you?

I agree and think it is rational decision making to put a kid in an environment they can control. But to "accept financial benefits that will improve their lives including the kid", if against the rules and regulations, is just IRRATIONAL decision making. :thumb:

Are you saying NCAA regulations are rational? :D

Of course it is. NCAA rules are immoral and you're overwhelmingly likely to get away with breaking them. Even if you get caught, the only people punished will be the fans of the program you left years ago.

As an athlete, accepting money to play NCAA sports is the correct decision. You should have no respect for the NCAA rules whatsoever.

For coaches and administrators, the morality is a little more complicated. They are the ones who are actually cheating, albeit cheating by correcting a moral wrong.

No, but you do have to follow them until something better comes along.

I refuse to believe NCAA basketball would be better if every parent and player went around with their hands out looking for the best deal. That is not rational. Yes, it happens to a certain extent, but they are breaking the rules. Proper solution to that is to punish them, not applaud them for being "rational". Parents need to teach their kids to abide by rules and laws period.

Players are cheating too if they are taking money. That is not a correct decision. The fact that you are more than likely to not get caught doesn't change if it is right or wrong. It is wrong.

Let's not mistake NCAA rules and regulations as rational or moral.

Never said it was, but if you are going to play college basketball, you agree to abide by their rules. You can sit out. You can play NAIA and you can go overseas. As long as you are going to suit up for NCAA, then abide by their rules.

You need to have quite the stomach to be a high major coach. Basically expect them all to go elsewhere until they actually sign.
