I'm excited that there's already chemistry present between the members of our upcoming class. Now that is an advantage in this age of communication.

IU fans really thought they were going to land Preston. They can't be too upset considering how IU currently looks but next year could be pretty rough for them.

Talk about missing on recruits... I mean cmon they had so many slip through their fingers.

#illini commit Javon Pickett why he attended the presser yesterday: I want to show support, he wanted me there, we're family so why not?

I've seen some questions posed about who will be the team leaders after Hill et al graduate. Looks like Mr Pickett has some serious family and leadership qualities.

One thing to keep in mind regarding a redshirt. Would you rather Tilmon redshirt a year, have a great year, and then go pro?

OR

Would you rather have him for two years, with the first one having its ups and down. I'll take the second scenario every time. You can't assume he's going to be around more than two years at this point. Plus, redshirting your top prospect doesn't look good to other recruits unless you are a talent factory like Kentucky or Duke

Sorry, man. I had to just laugh at the mention of red shirting Tilmon. Ludicrous - it's not even in the realm of possibilities.

Agree! That's 12 seconds of reading that I'll never get back

I feel like the "Next year will be rough for IU" has replaced ""just wait till webber brings in the 20___ class"

I like his jumpshot. It is a quick release and it goes in. Given the space defenders will have to give him because of his driving ability he will get it off. It is one quick motion kind of like Steph currys. Not as pretty but similar in that regard

Steph curry doesn't shoot from 2 feet out in front of his face.

I'm not saying he shouldn't maybe tweak it a little bit, I just don't think it is as bad as the one poster implied.

Well I don't think anyone shoots it like Curry. I think he'll be fine. Besides, any college coach in the country would take him on their team and i'm venturing to guess that are pretty decent at evaluating shots and talent.

Not doubting the talent or the evaluation. Just very concerned about the release point as he essentially puts the ball in the defenders face.

The release reminds me a lot of John Shurna from Northwestern, and he ended up having a successful career at Northwestern regardless, despite the imperfect technique. Not everybody can be JCL. =P

Temper those expectations. I'm as high as anyone on Frazier and have been talking him up before his BOTS show out and he's about 30lbs shy of that notion

I think my favorite TF characteristic is his swagger. Reminds me of Juwan Evans, especially last season right before he got hurt. Despite being rail thin and small, JE was playing so fearlessly and was just a bad*ss.

Maybe it was more of an effect rather than a cause of their success, but my gawd, when Dee and Deron would step on the court, they were just oozing this sort of swagger, which is then so contagious to rest of the team.

Any chance we recruit Austin Nichols? He might only have a half season of eligibility left unless he gets a medical rs(I don't even know if that's possible), but the scholarship would be freed up for 18. We could use a double double type of guy.

Zero chance. Groce has spoken about character as something he wants and this guy seems to have little of that.

I don't know the listed height of Frazier, but he did not look particularly small in that tape of his first game of the season. And he did not look particularly small when he grabbed the rebound of a teammate's free throw and threw it in for the winning basket in less than one second.

He's not small but he's extremely thin.
