I think Jkat is on to something. I know people are seeing things differently but my biggest thing I see is the fact no rumors of Groce going after anyone else. No talking no visiting nothing. With his seat being warm I just don't see him sitting if he thinks things may be going differently. One thing about this staff is the go hard when it comes to recruiting. Even if little chance they would be pursuing another route by now.

Another thing is I know a lot of people don't like seeing Abrahms and Tate together but I think it's smart. Especially if it does work. Considering the strength in Illinois pg recruits in the next few years it's showing what 2 Pgs can do in Groces system. You can get 2 top flight pgs seeing that it can and will work in the paign. So just picture what we are recruiting and what they could look like together. This will show them how each can feed off each other, raise the bar for each other and can work the offense together. Would I love to have a better option to run with Abrahms most definitely but if these two can make it work just think what the other pgs we are in on can see themselves doing

I don't know if it's a hunch or wishful thinking, but I'm thinking he signs on Wednesday as well.

I know many people will disagree but if im Groce, i recruit Verge as hard as possible and grab a 5th year big

Respectfully disagree with Verge, not a position of need and 4 schools in 4 year is no bueno. I previously stated that even with Tilmon we should continue to recruit 2 more bigs with one being a 5th year transfer.

Going into next year I'm fine with TJL, Frazier, and Damonte as our PGs. Young group but that is our PGs going forward. We have JCL, Kipper, Jordan, DJ at SG/Wings. DJ and possibly Kipper will help at the 4 as well. Black and Finke appear to be the only bigs unless we get Tilmon and two others.

We need progression going forward on multiple positions from our existing players.

All crystal balls pointing to Jarrod Simmons to Pennsylvania. I've got my fingers crossed that's a good sign for Illinois on the Tilmon front!!!

I hope he does sign! We all would breathe a sigh of relief and have experienced a wide range of emotions in the last week!

It's a nice theory, but what exactly are they showing to future PGs right now? They're not exactly feeding off each other or raising the bar for each other. And I'm giving Abrams a little more time, because I acknowledge he's still knocking some rust off. But I just don't see these two giving any taste of how Groce's system can work with two high level PGs, partially because do we really know what Groce's "system" is? I think he needs to put his lineups that give him the best chance to win now out there, because if he doesn't win he won't be having to worry about future PGs.

IMO, Groce will go after another big hard, with or without Tilmon. w/o Tilmon it is 2 bigs...with Kiir committed to VCU I think the limit on big targets right now is quality, not quantity.

Probably time to move onto 2018 huh? With Tilmon in (fingers crossed), we've still done pretty well for the coming year. Especially after seeing how the team currently is playing, I feel much better now.

I mean even with Tilmon in, we need to fill 2 spots. So 5th year senior transfer spots are still open (unless we take another HS commit i.e. Epperson).
