Of course insiders are often going to be wrong. Inside information is prone to be wrong sometimes. It's still inside information, and fun to read/hear/discuss.

Tilman was an "insider" when he said it's "not a guarantee, but basically a guarantee" that Goodwin was going to come to UI. I mean, he is friends with Goodwin...that's first-hand inside information. But people change their minds, circumstances change, and information becomes obsolete.

meh. there's a lot of low key "insiders" around here who you dont see very much, or should i say, anymore... just depends on how long you've been around here.

But there is a lot of very highly respected posters on here who mainly operate via pm's nowadays, that the new people might not know about. jus sayin

Don't give Landon02 so much grief. He's just relaying what he's hearing. Wilkes to IU is a done deal, and it's not a huge surprise.

I absolutely bleed Orange&Blue. I love U of I beyond description. I want Illinois to succeed tremendously. But I just feel that if he can't take this team to the dance this year he must go. Even with the class he has put together and is still assembling. Even if that means 2017 recruits leaving.

Why delay the inevitable.

That being said I truly hope that coach Groce and company prove me wrong and not only get to the dance but make some noise and go on and have long and prosperous careers for the beloved.

If you are right about his strengths, then I believe we are ok as the weaknesses can and should be covered by the assistants. That is where the AD needs to step in and council.

On another note, all is quiet on the Mayan front. When's the last time an official visit was this quiet? No golf cart sightings? No stalkers at OPH? Was it the collective apathy from the deflating football loss?

Mebbe Wilkes is waiting to go trick-or-treating with Clappy. Costume not necessary. Hopefully, Wilkes will be sufficiently creeped out to flip to us.

At least on this board, Kiir's kinda playing second fiddle to Wilkes, which is a little bit disappointing. I'd prefer that excitement be preferentially generated for kids who are on campus.

But we did get a CB out of the visit, so there's that.
