Really like how that recruitment went. No BS, quick, good kid. Now we can focus our conversations to other guys.

Shame. I think we could have gotten this kid if we push hard at the start. Waited around for Castleton, and now we're likely to get burned.

He wouldn't have fit Underwood's system, really.

Has Castleton nailed down a date/time to commit? All I've heard is this week sometime.

So he is going to "the University of Iowa State."

Okay. :tsk:

The Chicago Bulls and the University of Illinois are two different things still, right? Did I miss something?

It's so Illinois that we hire ISU's head coach and then proceed to loose a recruiting battle to the former assistant...

I read this 3 times before it came to me, that it still didn't make any sense.

She agreed to apply and get into UI, so that I can use it as a negotiating point with out of state schools. It's worth a shot.

Good luck with that. Unfortunately I lost that battle with both my kids. But scholarship money made it reasonable, which is probably another reason so many Illinois kids leave the state.

Sad to see Conditt head to Iowa State. Still a good school. He'll do well in the Big 12. Good luck to him. Hopefully we'll get a commitment soon.

It was mentioned earlier about the "in home" visit cancelled. Was that the one scheduled for CC?

The reality is that based on all CBs: we're getting Ayo and Finke.

I'd love to get Castleton and Landers, but presently it's not looking good. Things can happen sure. CB movement in the 24 hours before a commitment is always the best indicator too.

Like you, I don't have the time or desire to do a full on search for this. But just a quick look back at the 2017 class top 25 talent. 3 stayed in their home state.

I see, but I referenced city/area persay, take the top 25 or so from EVERY major recruiting base and I would still bet the higher % of leaving belongs to Chicago...or take it further and make it states.

Illinois Top 25 from last 10 years vs any other states Top 25...Would still say Chicago/Illinois wins.
