Liddell isn't involved. Miller is with MIF. Liddell is pals with Mark Smith, so I doubt this affects him either way.

Not a big deal. Would be nice to have THT on board, but like I said earlier, if his being on the team creates unrest, then it's a no brainer.

Since i'm not convinced the drama was between Ayo and THT, I see no reason why this would create unrest on the team -- unless of course the Irvins are sitting on the bench.

If there really is a dilemma between Ayo and THT or their “camps” I personally find it disheartening...BU shouldn’t have to deal with this &/@!...and you really want to recruit Chicago...if there really isn’t a dilemma, this board among others sure look foolish...here’s hoping maturity and common sense prevail and the Illini end up with the likely two best players in the state.

It makes you wonder if how this has played out will hurt our reputation with other players.

At this stage in a recruitment, it's inconceivable that BU would: (a) allow a player or a player's family to dictate another highly recruited player's commitment; and (b) have not known about the feelings involved prior to this point. Plus, in the end, the players make the decision and all indications are that Ayo and THT are on board with each other. We have no idea where THT is going, but if he chooses IL, I find it hard to believe it will have any impact on Ayo. Finally, negative info gets magnified, especially when it's shrouded in mystery. There's a good chance the coaches already know the decision.

So much naivety here.

Can anyone confirm the Illini have rescinded the offer to THT or is that just hearsay like everything else!

Any chance THT told the Xavier and Iowa State coaches he was gonna pick Illinois yesterday? I know most players don't do that, but some do give the courtesy ahead of time. That would be WEIRD now.

Ahhh for the good old simple days of recruiting in Edwardsville, Illinois... where this guy was the only thing you had to fear on announcement day...

That guy was the :hurl: you to listen for about 30 minutes, tried his best to make it about himself.

kinda really messed up if MIF is behind BU not being able to take a verbal from THT. I mean, the kid is 16yo, but you're willing to deny him one of the biggest decisions in his life up to this point because he wanted more exposure?

Wherever THT ends up, i hope he kicks a**

The Road to Success is always under Construction. When I look back at my greatest accomplishments, easy isn't the first word that comes to mind. So yes, to get the best players you will have work hard and deal with the drama. Or you can get mid-major talent and try to coach it up.

If THT does not pick Illinois:

In this case, if he chooses to go somewhere else, that's fine. We never had him to be able to lose him.

Everything for the last two days has been complete speculation. We have fans spewing BS on message boards, we had media spewing BS on pod casts, we had coaches having to go to Twitter to refute things....

Honestly, your college career and your college decision should be fun! I can't imagine that under any circumstances, the reaction has been fun for THT. If I were his parents, I'd tell my kid to steer clear of all of the crap. Go to Iowa State, leave all this nonsense behind and don't get caught up in having to answer questions about being able to play with Ayo for the next two years.

The drama that people have created over these last few days has been ridiculous. If he did tell BU that he was coming to Illinois, if it has changed, it's purely based on not wanting to deal with all of the nonsense.

I'm not basing this on fact, just common sense.

Rumors sell papers. Think someone is selling a load of poles. The staff can't control what happens, they can just do whatever they can with cards they are dealt.

If Tht, commits, we go with it and don't look back. BU has said he's not begging anyone to play here. If you have integrity, you stand by your word. No one should dictate policy to BU. All should just wait and see what happens. Remaining calm, and think about the situation. Something doesn't seem right. I hope that we can trust our staff to handle best they can.

2.5hours till announcement.;):illinois:

Bad look for everyone on this. This is why I feel dirty just following recruiting.

He did commit first, but that doesn't mean his people can control our roster.

BU gains much more control once they are on the roster, but before than they will have a lot of control. Just can't imagine Chin and BU didn't know the circumstances of going after THT. This isn't the first time this has happened folks. I don't think Ben Wilson and Lowell Hamilton were friends, heard there was a rivalry. Ralph Sampson pulled out of Kentucky when Sam Bowie committed.

MIF is butt hurt over what a kid did to them. Sometimes you just need to be the adult. Irvins shouldn't be allowed to be HS coaches and run an AAU team, just too much influence over both worlds. Other side of the coin is nobody knows THT, he did quit MIF. He could be a difficult personality or primadona.
