I take this as a positive. He could have probably gone to any school within driving distance that had a football game just because he wanted to. The fact that he came here is relatively satisfying.

I'm hoping he wore that tshirt from his home today!

Very positive IMHO, as I look back at Chicago area recruits there have been some that never it make it to the campus or just ignore the flagship school. We didn't have a chance with those players. He now has two visits and is developing a relationship with the Head Coach and staff.

Also a positive that his father took him down to the school. Less chance of outside influences pushing their agenda.

Who else here kept thinking this weekend was Wilkes OV? I was, but after drinking sweet tea, my mind has straightened up.

I think Illinois has plenty to offer Wilkes regarding position and play. The WF spot held by Hill has been very productive and Wilkes could possibly fill this role next year. He would have to compete against Kipper and DJ for that starting spot. But I can see Kipper playing SG/WF and DJ play WF/PF giving more minutes at the true WF position.

I don't think Wilkes or Tilmon are "one and done" players. Both need physical maturation and skill development, but both can be solid NBA players with further development.

I don't know what UCLA, Indiana, and Xavier have regarding players at the WF.

JCL played for Mike Peterson's AAU Indy Hoosier's program one year, early on.

You know when I see Dwill I immediately Deron Williams and not
Da'Monte Williams. I can't wait for our coaches and Dee get to work with him. All the ILLINI years his dad played he would lull them to sleep and then be a step past them. I see this in Da'Monte. When I read that he does not have the motor I think, watch and learn ....
