Hey, I don't blame the kid. If we stopped recruiting him and I was given a free ride at that college....i'd take it. That place is freaking beautiful

Telling the Illini media that it will be he hardest decision of his life sort of has he ominous sound of preparing the fan base for a polite let down. It wasn't how much he loved it here- it was how things will be tough. "I really like you and you're great but...." I'm being negative but I'm so tired of getting passed over.

Sorry, we never had a chance with him. A California boy, moves to Midwest to spend all his time, and maybe be winning. C'MON MAN!

IMHO, I took it as: "After my visit to Ames, I was 100% sold on going to my Dad's alma mater. However, after hearing everything that the Illini have to offer, this will be the hardest decision of my life."

Not saying that this is accurate, but there are two sides to every coin.

I took it that way too. It's no big deal to disappoint Illinois fans or Iowa State fans. It's hard to disappoint a parent. The broader point is that he feels conflicted and this decision could go either way. BU's challenge is to sell the parents.

If rumors are correct, dad wants Iowa state many other family members want Illinois.

Thus hard decision. End of story. People dissect words of kids to the point of absurdity on message boards.

While I agree from a basketball standpoint - have you seen the UCSB Campus - it's beautiful.

Sow was my preferred big man though :(

Another kid from Prolific Prep also committed to UCSB yesterday (think Toure also played on the Oakland Soldiers with Sow). Play with a friend on a beautiful campus with nice weather (SB calls itself the American Riviera) or come to a midwest winter? Not too hard to understand this one.
