I wouldn't be surprised if we lost out on Conditt to Iowa State, as Hilton is a cool place to play and they've been fairly good at basketball over the last several years ... but one of their posters on their board just said they felt confident that he'd pick Iowa State over Illinois due to the Cyclones having a better "basketball tradition," LOL. I'm assuming he meant in recent history they had more success to point to, but jeez ... pick a different word:

Final Fours: UI 5, ISU 1
Elite Eights: UI 9, ISU 2
Sweet Sixteens: UI 13, ISU 6
NCAAT Wins: UI 40, ISU 19
NCAAT Appearances: UI 30, ISU 19
All-Time Winning Pctg.: UI .644, ISU .509
Top 25 Finishes: UI 26, ISU 9
Weeks in Top 25: UI 444, ISU 153
30-Win Seasons: UI 2, ISU 1
25-Win Seasons: UI 9, ISU 4
20-Win Seasons: UI 32, ISU 16
Conference Titles: UI 17, ISU 6

I'd say tradition is one of the things they definitely do NOT have going in their favor ... along with fan base size, academics, facilities, media exposure and college town (which is pretty close, I'll admit ... but give me Chambana, for sure!), haha.

I think it is pretty obvious Conditt prefers Illinois and Illinois prefers Castleton. We'll have to see how it ends up.

Right. Plus, we have a large proximity advantage. And then there's the Fletch factor. Have to believe that's an advantage too. Our scheme is very appealing too. All in all, we offer a pretty compelling situation.

I'm excited about Nolley's comments post OV. Anybody have something solid about his future OV dates? I thought I had seen something about none after us until VTech on 9/29, but 247 has NC State 9/10, UConn 9/29, and no VCU until 10/20. I like the idea of having set the bar and multiple weeks without competition to compare to.

This is from yesterday so it should be up to date.

He also has official visits to Georgia (Oct. 6-8), Oklahoma State (Oct. 13-15), UConn (TBD), and Virginia Tech (Sept. 29-31).

I don't think it's obvious at all. His Dad went to ISU and was brought to tears upon his son getting an ISU offer. I think it's a pretty big hill for us with him. I really like his game though.

Yeah- I would be shocked if Castleton or Conditt ended up as Illini. It seems to me that their hearts are elsewhere. I would like to see that change of course.

Nothing on BPJ in a while. Are we down to Conditt, Castleton, and Sow now? If we end up with Sow is he a 2 year project sort of big or can he contribute in season 1?

Ouch - Tech / Clemson game weekend. Clemson will be tough to beat, but the game environment will be crazy good. Good thing Cassell Coliseum doesn't compare.

Sow will be ready from day 1 on the defensive side. Like many HS Bigs his offense is a work in progress.

And we still have Dowuona as a target, although word is that he is a Purdue lean at this time

And they are fawning over him while we show him tough love and he hasn't committed to Iowa State yet. Even after his visit to Ames.

Conditt has a in home scheduled with ISU this coming Sunday night. Last ditch effort by Prohm before GCIV commits to Illini the following weekend. OA playing a big part in this one. Four older brothers and many nieces/nephews who all live in the South Suburbs are voting Illini.!!

64 days left to signing day, Wednesday, November 8th. BU has 9 weeks to pull this class together.

I'm sure all will be happy once we know who is signing, ATM looks more like Nolley sending the strongest message with in home. Big man may be 1st commit, but still not sure who.

Dude, calm down with your urgency stuff. He pulled in two bigs with potential last year when we were all worried he couldn't get anyone else and the sky was falling. Relax with this bs man

At the moment, Sow and Conditt are the only OVs we've got scheduled. Hopefully, Ayo and THT schedule visits, but perhaps they won't since they've visited before. That would not be good. The window, though, is closing. We may end up with only 6 OVs, which means we'd need to close out on 50 percent of the visits to fill our open scholarships, a percentage which is tough to achieve. Schools are limited to 12 OVs and Kansas must be getting close to that number if you include scheduled future visits. If Ayo and THT plan to visit there, they'll have to schedule soon. Once we get in-home visits scheduled, we'll have a better idea of where we stand, but at the moment, the future of this class is hazy.

I would be shocked if Ayo or THT schedule an OV to Illinois. Why bother? So Illinois can pay the bus fare down? We can pitch them just fine with unofficials.

They'll only schedule an OV to Chambana if they get sick of traveling to other schools before they use up their five.

Officials allow for certain things to be done that you can't do on an unofficial

Have you seen Conditt liking and retweeting an Illini fan's tweets about him.
