Word is that people arriving were leaving because it was too crowded and no one arriving later could get close enough to see.
What is the deal with parking though. I heard that no one was being allowed to park in Ubben and places were charging $20 to park elsewhere?

It’s game day

Parking probably has to do with the football game tonight

fyi...Piper on the Werner show talking about recruiting today & visits...not really anything extra there though. Didn't give anything away on his crystal ball pick for EJ, just that it isn't a courtesy visit and we have a chance, I didn't even get the feeling we are necessarily leading in his eyes, just we have last visit and he likes that position & it is a tough call. Maybe the one thing I haven't heard that much on here & Henricksen said the same thing on Werner last week that OSU sell is the great recruiting class & EJ wants to win and they thought that would resonate with EJ. Pipper said Mizzou strength is relationship with Martin.

Add all three guys there this weekend and poof, great recruiting class to add to our guard/wing power already in place. The Illini could be special again!! Plus mom and dad could watch EJ every home game!

We’re definitely done sinking. Only up after last year. If we can land the three guys this weekend, we definitely are back.

Ubben was packed 4 deep. Shannon started it off at 3:00. Each player had 20 minutes. As large as the crowd was, it could have been louder for Shannon - some "canned" cheers were passed out, and the side behind the backboard was supposed to start them. They didn't seem to know that. Oscar came 2nd and the crowd got more into it, forgetting the canned cheers. A couple of guys on the side took charge of starting the cheers. Oscar not only made some great dunks, but he showed a great touch and shot the 3 very well. EJ came last and there was a lot of cheering to "Stay home EJ". All of the players did a nice job. From 3:45 to 4:00, the current Illini players started shooting on the other side of the court. I left at 4:00 because I can't stand for a long time - let me know if I missed anything.

There's a doctoral thesis in the frailties of human psychology there
Hopefully the people that read your post will refer back to my original post for the accurate meaning. You've taken a small portion of my original post and left an entirely wrong impression here.

Thank you for the report sir. Take care of those old knees tonight.

The Parka on the guy right in front of the camera makes me a little suspicious if this picture is really today (but I don't see a lot of other coats, so??)

lol: Except that's a head with hair. hahahaha

A little info from today’s workouts.

Shannon- As advertised, not a great shooter. His workout seemed kinda sluggish to me. The reason the crowd wasn’t into it was because it wasn’t all that great in my opinion.

Oscar- Great workout, you could really tell that he is a high caliber player and appreciated the crowd’s reactions. He showed a much better touch than I ever expected and threw down some highlight reel dunks. Guy is a beast and will be a star wherever he goes. I do think Illinois’ chances are much improved after today.

EJ- Good workout, but seemed to tweet his wrist about halfway through and his shot was off for the remainder. He did seem to really enjoy himself, especially during the scrimmage. After the scrimmage, Oscar, EJ and Giorgi had a dunk contest and Oscar had everyone gawking, even the players.

Was Shannon watching the contest? I would have thought he'd be participating.

My last post was poorly written. I left after the workouts and wondered if the recruits had, in fact, scrimmaged with our current players. If so, I was going to ask IndyIllini2 what his impressions of it were.
Oscar is a monster. Really fit in well and dominated down low. Samba tried to back him down and there was just now way. He is a solid human being. He also runs the floor very well. He probably had 15 rebounds in 20 minutes.

EJ hit several threes and physically can definitely compete. He had several big dunks. Giorgi was all over him in the post and hacking away, but he still got to the hoop.

Shannon mostly stayed on the outside and took jump shots. He can run the floor, but during the scrimmage there wasn’t a lot of fast breaks. He definitely has some work to do with his shot.
