Soooo....it's looking like a complete and total whiff on the huge recruiting weekend? Three strikes....Illinois is out? Not completely giving up yet, but things sure aren't trending well.
Why? Cause nobody committed on the spot? There have been no negative signs for anyone other than these crystal ball switches for Liddell.

That's not true. It's a negative that we arent the last visit for TSJ even if our chances are still high. Plus it's still extremely unlikely we get Tshiebwe despite reports of a great visit(which could be said about most official visits). It's certainly possible that we'll go 0 for 3 but even if we land TSJ people won't be pleased.

Need some info on Liddell compared to our current roster 3 Tevian Jones. Handle, shoot, athleticism, defense, rebounding....as it seems to me there is little difference. Fill me in please.

This is such an important point.

In the history of official visits, no teenage kid has told some overly eager middle-aged adult reporter, "Yeah, I had just an awful time. The worst fans, putrid facilities. Simply just a mess of an official visit."

The truth is, nobody really knows. Fans are just impatient not knowing.

If EJ is announcing Monday... Gotta think its Mizzou unfortunately but i sure hope im wrong!

I think it’s OSU as well. Dang. If he wasn’t coming here I really would rather it be Mizzou than Ohio State.

Yup, always has been.

Unfortunately we couldn't change his mind.

We have been behind on this one. Twitter banter back and forth between us and Mizznoz but he ends up spurning both.

No. Anywhere but Cuoznoz. I get that he'll be in conference at tOSU but I dont want any good players especially from downstate going to Columbia.

You are wrong. About 100% gurus think it is OSU.

No the guru's are the one's who are often "wrong" in these types of recruitments b/c they, just like us, have no solid info whatsoever! So they just make their best educated guess aka whatever they can do to get click bait!

But we'll see

Funny. Where are those Loyalty insiders that had Ohio St. out of it and had Liddell down to us and Missouri. You just NEVER know....
I seriously don't recall a single self proclaimed insider saying that

Not sure but I certainly never had much hope that we would land him unless we got an announcement within a day or two after our visit.

Once that time elapsed, my little glimmer of hope dissipated.

I don't think anyone knows where Liddell is going but he gave us a hard look face to face. Respect to him if he comes here for repping his state, it matters to some kids like Brandon Paul who was coming here not matter who was coaching.
We have no idea if he gave us a "hard look face to face." For all we know, this could have been a courtesy visit like DRose or simply a favor to Walker given their long relationship. Bottom line is that almost none of us know squat about the inner workings and motivations of these kids.

If/when one of these in state guys actually commits, we can put them on a pedestal with the Peoria guys, Dee, Kendall, Nick, BP3, Ayo, et al.

Brunson did not really enjoy his OV to UI. Not sure if this was ever really made public as I'm sure he said all of the platitudes afterwards, but it's true.

I truly believe there is still a chance with EJ, despite OSU having the edge. Illinois did everything right on the visit and now it is a waiting game. Arguing over what 17 year old kids like and don’t like is a pointless argument. EJ is a good kid that will do what is best for him. Just let the process play out.

The dreaded "not the last visit" comment. We had been Liddell's last visit and everyone complained about how being last was dangerous cause he could commit earlier. Can't win.

That’s not true. He almost committed during the OV. His dad said to take one more OV to be sure. That OV was Villanova.

Your point stands, but I remember Jalen Coleman being a heavy ND lean before his visit and reports trickling out after that they pretty much blew it.

That's not the way I heard it, but I also remember hearing your version...though I think your version had to do with a girl.

ties will be resolved
While we wait and fret, Guerrier visits next weekend. It's down to 'Cuse, Oregon and us. Again, last visit. Need to close. Doubt we will.
