My guess is Illini. He has developed relationships with a lot of people connected to the program. I still don't feel confident though.

EJ to ILLINI at the end of the day on Monday....Brea Beal still has visits to go on and won't commit until they are completed by all accounts. ILLINI are solidly in the mix, and Fahey would score a major coup if she could land her.

Brea Beal Tweet from earlier.

"At the end of the day you gotta do what’s best for you, not for anyone else.. for YOU "

Cryptic for EJ. You choose ILLINI, because you want to....I may join you later, but you do you for YOU first!

EJ TO ILLINI....MANIC MONDAY!...sticking to this

I do love the optimism and hope against hope he does pick Illinois but when was the last time all of the "experts" pointed one way and then the announcement went another way? I mean I'm sure it happens but outside of maybe JCL? I can't remember one?

What i think the girl is saying is even though you have a lot of pressure to pick MO, like friends and what not , maybe, at the end of the day you gotta go where you want. Which will be Ohio State.

Rather more likely, this reads as the classic "would be nice if you joined and I could possibly sign on and be at the same school, but you gotta do what's best for you...and go elsewhere" (i.e. be another in-state star that spurns Illinois)

Not Illinois specific, but Kevon Looney to UCLA was a major surprise that nobody predicted. That being said, smart money has been and still is OSU...would love to be surprised though.

Need some info on Liddell compared to our current roster 3 Tevian Jones. Handle, shoot, athleticism, defense, rebounding....as it seems to me there is little difference. Fill me in please.

I'm not as familiar with Jones yet but based off clips and articles he strikes me as a pure 3 small forward mostly outside player... Liddell is nothing like that at all... he's big and he can play inside, defend and rebound as well as shoot from the perimeter. Pretty sure he will be a 4 in college. They are not similar players.

I'm going with EJ to Illinois! This is how we start winning again. My pick is only made out of HOPE and bringing Illini BB back to National Prominence.
Hope is all we can hold onto right now, because it looks like Ohio State has all the momentum...

I hope that Whatever Kendall Gill told EJ Liddell was enough to sway him our way. Perhaps even Malcolm Hill might have helped.

I love that winning basketball games is the slog we have to go through in order to accomplish our ultimate goal, being validated by 17 year olds on twitter :ROFLMAO:
I’m 30, you’re 90. If you think I am one of those 17 year olds haha

We are not at a place where we can afford to lose 2 significant central/down state players. Especially to good yet non-blue blood programs. Need to get these type of players and win this year.

We were competing last year. We have kids that know what it takes to win this year. I honestly believe this is the last year we're going to be taking our hits with recruits going elsewhere. One player will never make or break this program. Once the 2020 kids see what we're really about this year then we're set.

I can't believe all that we got from this surge of high-major southern Illinois talent is one wet fart of a season from Mark Smith.

That’s what happens when you suck for a decade and haven’t made the tourney since these kids were in Jr High. :tsk:
