No need for the cup. We have not been nor are we currently perceived to the the leader for this recruitment. If we get him it would be an upset, if we lose him then this played out how we thought it would.
What if we just want to wear one, is that ok?

If yet another top in state talent shunning Illinois isn't a kick in the nuts.....then I don't know what is.

To sum things up succinctly. On EJ's announcement date tweet someone sets up a poll asking which fan base would show him the most love.

The results out of over 4,000 votes are:

Mizzou 38%
Illinois 51%
Ohio State 10%

Liddell would have been a STUD for us with alot of expectations, same as at Mizzou...maybe ultimately he did not want that kind of pressure, plus as he stated he likes to win, lets be honest the Buckeyes do more or that than either right now so....Good luck to the young man...

Any combination of Anthony Walker with Oscar T, T. Mitchell and or D Timme....1/2 out of three with Q. Gurrier or TSJ and M Jacobs then the class is still amazing. I actually would love to have Anthony Walker over almost any of the others...that kids upside is outrageous imo.

Everyone here is right, let’s just close down the whole program. None of you know what it is like recruiting or coaching at this level. One lost recruit does not destroy a program. You are truly the problem, not the coaching staff, if you think otherwise.

By all accounts Walker had a strong relationship with EJ. That being said if we don’t start winning it doesn’t matter all that much. Some kids are willing to take the gamble and win at some point and other kids want to go somewhere where there’s almost a guarantee to win. These kids watch the NBA and see guys go to teams that are set up to win right a way. Hopefully we can get a commit from an impact big man in this class. We are close to being in the top half of the Big Ten.

And how can a program start winning without getting good recruits? See, we're in that loop. Still.
