2022 and 2023 recruits are nice, but how about another big for 2021-22? Thanks.
That's the fine. People who are worried about this becoming a mercenary free for all need to remember that the risk highlighted here will help guard against that. The sad part of college hoops/recruiting
We have a TON of BIGS still going into the transfer portal!2022 and 2023 recruits are nice, but how about another big for 2021-22? Thanks.
That stat also tells you nothing about why those players don't have a new team. The NCAA isn't exactly falling over itself to make data available, but the best (outdated) numbers I could find show that 40 percent of players don't make it more than two years with their initial team, and that about 14 percent of all players each year wind up transferring. Even if you make the really aggressive assumption that all transfers happen within the subset of players who are leaving after their first or second years, you've got, what, like a quarter of players leaving and not playing D-I ball again? That's the fine. People who are worried about this becoming a mercenary free for all need to remember that the risk highlighted here will help guard against that.
I'm getting some Kelly Olynyk vibes right there....Now that the Allman Brothers have broken up...he's free to play for the Illini!? (not bad for a 2023!)

I don’t understand why he isn’t more interested in us if he isn’t getting his guy hired anywhere. He would be a sure fire starter here and make us a top 20 or better team.
Sounds like he visited FSU and Texas as well most recently.
Could be anything. When I was college-aged, I might have preferred warm weather and the outdoor parties at a FL state school, especially after winters in Amherst. Some of their campus buildings look like 1960s USSR.I don’t understand why he isn’t more interested in us if he isn’t getting his guy hired anywhere. He would be a sure fire starter here and make us a top 20 or better team.
Texas is going to ranked with Beard coaching and Florida State has been pretty good the last few years and have gotten a few players drafted. Not to mention the weather in those 2 places. He is going to start anywhere. With that being said, there is a big need for him here.I don’t understand why he isn’t more interested in us if he isn’t getting his guy hired anywhere. Lots of B1G offers. If he's not playing for us, it looks like there's a decent chance we'll be playing against him soon. Offers from MSU, Minn, Neb, IU, Iowa, and Wisc. This kid ('22 PG out of Minny) looks like the real deal:
