Is this the mythical package deal we've heard so much about!?!?
I keep holding out on the statement BU made....."you don't know sh*t"......would gladly accept this deal and freely admit that I really don't know Sh*T!

At this point is it safe to assume that whatever that was, was likely something that didn't come to fruition? I wonder if we'll ever find out (probably not). At the time it felt like it was something we'd find out about in a matter of weeks or months, and it still hasn't happened, so...

I still wonder too, he seemed like it was something big, maybe Podz telling him he's coming or better yet another goodie still to come!

Well said. Tangentially, I recall the anecdote (from stats class long ago) about how the University of Virginia College of Communications marketed in the mid-'80s to prospective students that the department boasted an outrageously high average starting salary for graduates.

Turned out that Ralph Sampson was a member of the class from which that stat was derived.
Sort of like trying to ford that river that has a three foot average depth

Meyers Leonard must have skewed UI salary data for a while.

Half a million per year, each, with a new league whose intent is to develop talent for the NBA. Essentially, a direct competitor for G League Ignite, which should raise pre-NBA salaries, which could attract more interest from athletes who didn't come here to play school. The landscape is changing.
Amazing. Not a good sign of things to come. Must be with the parents or approved by a court or it’d be unenforceable

No it’s not a good sign. Why not just change AAU to PAU and get it over with? Will fail miserably, of course. Everything is not a business, and greed has its limits.

Early efforts will probably fail, but someone will come up with a model that works. There's a space to be filled.

Removing all the players primarily looking for a payday might be a good way to level the collegiate field. I know ~ naive in the extreme as the collegiate money will just flow downhill.

I agree. My guess is the G-League will win out, since it has NBA backing/branding, but they will have to pay the what the market will bear or they will get competition.

If the Overtime Elite league is for 16-18 year old's it won't affect the G-League very much because there are no players that age in that league. Two different animals with very little crossover.

So are kids supposed to drop out of high school to play in this league?
