Gotta convince him to wait until Spring. If not, not happening. But, for sure, these are the type of players we should be after (hint: ELITE (nod to BU) to near elite).
Which isn't to say I'm unhappy with our current class. Quite the contrary.

Pretty lame competition, but it's clear that he's a hooper. I'm gonna hate it when Papi leaves, but I'd be ecstatic to give this kid the keys on day one.

When I watch Hawkins play he appears to have that hungry, fearless, competitor attitude that can't be taught. I think the stronger he gets and with more experience he will become a dominant player! If I was playing street ball I'd pick him because of his attitude and current skillset! I've been around a lot of athletes in my days and he's got that look in his eyes that just communicates that losing is not an option when he's on the court.
You have cracked the code. We have been awaiting the mythical package deal to open up the Canadian Pipeline all this time!

I’d be fine with that but it certainly seems unlikely. Do you ask your boss for a raise and then leave 2 weeks later after getting what you want? Thats burning a significant bridge.
What if you get an offer to leave your current employer, you ask for more, and the one pursuing you goes after other options.
Then those other options don’t pan out, so they come back to you meeting your initial requests plus some?
(I don’t think that’s happening here. But it’s plausible.)
