Depends on the extent of his connections and if it would help us land multiple top 100 players over the next 3-4 years. If he’s just good for 1 recruit (even a Top 30 caliber guy) it’s not worth it.
Yep...not worth it. I think BU in his last interview said he's not willing to hire based on a player.

Hamilton wants no part of Bergeron on his staff. Just like BU, Wade, and Beard.

Tre is a good player, but Bergeron is acting like he's bringing Emoni Bates or Cade Cunningham. A couple of coaches on Tre's list would laugh at Bergeron if he even asked for an AC spot.
BU being at the front of that line. Bergeron is a joke.

Ok, now that's settled. Get enrolled for June classes and get to work! Illini nation is looking forward to you and showing the naysayers out there what you got.
Settled? I don’t think so. If he was fully committed he would have said 200%. So why 90% less than truly, fully committed? It is a sign to the 1990 champs UNLV that he’s just waiting for an offer to jump ship to the Runnin’ Rebels. // S

Unlike the Sky is Falling group on here, I thought the statement to Prince showed they were committed to Illinois. He didn’t need to “signal” to other schools that he was open to a switch.

Sounds like the next Trent Frazier.
I mean, we really don't know what the next year is going to look like wrt competition on the roster and who earns playing time vs who doesn't. People are understandably concerned about what the 2021 class does now as the staff changes, but the roles these kids fit into as they actually get onto campus can inform any 2022 transfer decisions, including for a guy like Podz who is clearing the air about the immediate future.

I think BillyBob was referring to Trent staying true to his commitment during a coaching change. Just as Podz is doing now.

You have to love Loyalty. When it appears all 2021 recruits will stay with their commitments, talk quickly shifts to which ones will transfer out after first year.
Real talk! Pessimism galore! A lot of people in this board I think have PTSD from the bad years and past struggles! It's like when you've had a bad relationship and you finally are in a good one... and you're constantly waiting for something bad to happen! Know your worth Illinois fans! Know your worth! We're one of the best programs in the country! Enjoy it while you can! Tomorrow's not promised as we all know! I-L-L
