For us who don't know the lay of the land in regard to AAU basketball. Why is this a big deal? Who are the AAU teams we want recruits to play for and not play for?

Well when you hire Tim Anderson largely because of his connections to the meanstreets then one of the top 24 kids decides to play for the meanstreets that is normally a good thing.

Not to take away from the jump, but let’s make it clear that “not ranked” in the 2023 ranks means outside the top 50. There’s a reason only 50 kids get ranked this early - they simply don’t know everyone and they are trying to project growth etc on younger kids. While still a big jump, it’s not exactly that uncommon of a jump.

There’s a reason only 50 kids get ranked this early - they simply don’t know everyone and they are trying to project growth etc on younger kids. Sure, but it's not every day someone jumps at least 35 spots in one update (51 to 16, if he was the first guy left out of the top 50). Must be doing something right!
