I'm trying to put this delicately...umm...Iowa seems like a good fit. I will be excited to cheer for our guys against him.

Hoping we have something better coming......?Won’t lose an ounce of sleep over this one
I think from the beginning we were going after other big men. Even though he lives close he seemed to be an after-thought!? Over the past few months his name was seldom mentioned. He didn't see the love and moved on. Think we will regret it!?I'm trying to put this delicately...umm...Iowa seems like a good fit. I will be excited to cheer for our guys against him.

Yeah the lack of athleticism would scare me as a coach. He’s less of an athlete than Garza and has a playing style similar to Timme. I’m just not convinced that will work in college. He’s definitely a project in my opinion.Won’t lose an ounce of sleep over this one

Seeing as though he would be our highest ranked recruit ever by about 20 spots:Keisersose said:
I don’t know why anyone could offer more than Illinois.
Misleading statement on Hamilton. Yes, he was ranked #1 by one publication (I believe Street & Smith's) after his JR year of H.S. But after his Senior year of H.S. he had faded back to around #20 in the country. In fact, many "experts" didn't even have him as the top player in IL -- they had Ed Horton ahead of him. Of course around #20 is still very highly ranked. Both Marcus Liberty and Lowell Hamilton were ranked number one in the country while Illinois was recruiting them.
Not sure what is "misleading" about that statement. As Combes simply stated. Hamilton was, in fact, rated #1 in the country while we recruited him.Misleading statement on Hamilton. Actually, this was more than 30 years ago. We've gone from splitting hairs on recruiting rankings for current kids to splitting hairs on guys from 30 years ago
