No. Exact opposite. So recruits want to play lesser competition and not be on national television?
Why do you think players got paid under the table before?
I'd be willing to bet most haven't even thought of that, but I'd also bet most would rather pay taxes and be guaranteed to never be found ineligible to play. And even then, a "customer" could just increase the payout accordingly.Would a player want under the table money to dodge taxes?
I wasn’t even really suggesting money would be under the table. Rather I think NIL brings it to above the table. But I think there are rules within NIL that are surely getting broken by the same peopel that would break the rules before.I'd be willing to bet most haven't even thought of that, but I'd bet most would rather pay taxes and be guaranteed to never be found ineligible to play. You think NIL makes all payments legal? There will still be under the table/illegal payments going on
Whatever dude.I wasn’t even really suggesting money would be under the table.
yep you just have to add 2 winks and 2 nudges LOLFor one, they literally couldn't legally get paid at all. If the only drawback to staying entirely above board right now is that you can't promise dollars, but you can give projections with history to back it up, I don't see why anyone would consider that risk worth it.

Or could you speak at my sons high school awards banquet......20 minute appearance = $100,000"Can you take a photo with my son and sign it? I will pay you $200,000."
These measurables are surprisingly low. I have routinely done nba combine testing with my teams and I have a 6’3 player currently playing low d1 who beats him out literally in every category.Memphis held a sort of pre-season pro day about a week ago. His measurables are below:
For reference, Luka Garza beat out his sprint, agility, and shuttle times while nearly matching Bates's vertical numbers.
Garza hit 24/29 on the verticals. 3.51 on the sprint, 11.9 on agility, 3.38 on the shuttle. https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/combine-strength-agility/
On top of all that, there are all sorts of stories out there about his lack of work ethic, stagnation in development after going to the prep school his dad created, etc.
A nudge is as good as a wink to a blind batyep you just have to add 2 winks and 2 nudges LOL
Yeah, and the fact that Memphis actually published them/didn't fudge them is odd too. Teams will bump up a player's height/measureables all the time. I don't see what Memphis would have to lose from doing that here -- instead, they published an anti-advertisement for their prized recruit. The Wingspan and vertical jump numbers are so bad, I almost don't believe them. A 6'9 basketball player w/ a 6-7.25 wingspan is pretty odd.
titus & tate in their podcast (you-tube available) express a high level of doubt that Bates' measurables could be so bad and engage in various theories about what could possibly be going on, including some sort of ploy to try to keep Bates at Memphis for two years (he can't go NBA next year)... but all seems too byzantine to make much sense to meYeah, and the fact that Memphis actually published them/didn't fudge them is odd too. Also, the "Roster Height/Weight" seems suspect (why put "roster" in front of it anyways?). Given that every other measurement is down to fractions/decimals, those numbers seem too neat to be accurate.
Incompetence usually is a bigger factor than convoluted conspiracies.titus & tate in their podcast (you-tube available) express a high level of doubt that Bates' measurables could be so bad and engage in various theories about what could possibly be going on, including some sort of ploy to try to keep Bates at Memphis for two years (he can't go NBA next year)... but all seems too byzantine to make much sense to me
I think you meant Mike Shaw Jr. Jr.Mike Shaw Jr.

5 top 100 players. However 3 are from Arkansas and 1 from Alabama, so let’s see if he can sustain when the talent is not local.Check out what Musselman is doing down in Arkansas. I’m hoping Underwood and Co. start pulling that level of talent consistently soon. It seems that they are on that trajectory.
DePud is probably his only option these days.
