Looking at IHSA stats. Rodgers is #1 rebounding(13.7), #1 in double doubles(14), #3 in Assists(7), #3 in Blocks(2.9) , #22 in steals(3.0 and #58 in scoring(15.8 and rising with his last few 20+ games). Definition of a stat stuffer and all around player.Very very impressive. Still surprised his ranking hasn't improved. He getting any Mr.Basketball consideration? Have to imagine he's got close to the most triple doubles this year.
Well if Epps, Harris and Rodgers are critical parts of 2 or 3 national championship teams, I’d consider them program changers.I am not sure we can go that far. Trent, Ayo, and Kofi were program changing players. They helped lift our program out of the burning dumpster left behind by the Thomas/Groce regime and brought us back to the level we all expect. A stack of top 100 recruits are going to keep us there, not change the program.
So tell me more about Ty Rodgers. Is he good because he matured early and is bigger and stronger than the 6' 3" guys guarding him? Or is he good because of quickness, understanding of the game, willingness to contribute whatever way he can, great handle, great shooter, and leadership skills. We sure need a guy his size who can do all that, but I have not seen much of his play. Educate me/us if you will.
ExactlyWho is David McCormick?

What if we had a thread for current recruiting, and a separate thread to discuss how all past coaches failed in their recruiting?
Would you care to add a little to this comment? Like maybe a name or two, maybe even a scavenger hunt.
Top freshman in the State.. FWIWMelvin Ball (2025) looks like he's going to be a full load.
Mebbe that Rick Majerus was a little pudgy too?Man, can you imagine being the family of a recruit and Marty Simmons walks into your home to recruit your son. The man must weigh 400 pounds. What was E. Ill. thinking? Your better put a lock on the fridge door. Doesn't the man have any pride?

His nickname, The Mule, was not easy to come by.Man, can you imagine being the family of a recruit and Marty Simmons walks into your home to recruit your son. The man must weigh 400 pounds. What was E. Ill. thinking? Your better put a lock on the fridge door. Doesn't the man have any pride?
Watched Marty play jr. high and high school ball.....The Mule was an appropriate label.....a real work horse (pardon the pun) l,,,ead Lawrenceville HS to back to back state titles....one of the toughest players for his size (6' 3-4") that I've ever seen play. His nickname, The Mule, was not easy to come by.
