Don't disagree that Miami makes sense. Just pointing out that we have plenty of boricua representation here, too, before someone makes it out to be that he left because we have no Puerto Ricans in the Midwest.

After playing high school ball in NYC without family and two winters in Champaign, I wouldn't blame him for heading for the U.
Totally. Didn’t mean to imply any disagreement, just filling in a little detail for others.

My assumption has been that a player can stay and keep the schollie if their services are no longer “appreciated” but that they might convert to an academic scholarship and the player won’t be on the team. But since in nearly every case a player wants to continue playing that the reasonable choice is to move on. Does that sound about right?

Give me some time to collect myself before I can begin batch-processing two hours of posts at a go, and hitting "LIKE" an unprecedented number of times while intermittently laughing out loud often enough that anyone within earshot probably believes I'm seriously disturbed.

Having reasons to be optimistic will do that to a person. For anyone who was an Illini fan during the most recent ‘The Great Regret’ era... these times today are fun and energizing. We may not yet be at the level of the remaining Final Four legacy programs that much of America is seriously tired of seeing already. But we’re getting closer every day.

And as for laughing out loud and letting others hear that... any time a person can find joy these days is a reason to celebrate. And if you get asked why are you so happy... you might explain why Illinois ball is so much fun and you just might make a new Illini fan for the future.

Had a lot of pages to catch up on today in these threads like but looks like we could be pretttttty good next year with what’s coming!

TSJ would give us that athletic slasher who can get to the rim and finish we were missing this year, that is for sure. His shooting numbers are a plus as well - with someone like Kofi drawing so much attention it could really open things up for a guy like him

From a complete basketball player stand point, it seems like TSJ would be an upgrade over Grandison? Same point production but more athletic and a better defender?
