Know his HS coach extremely well. He thinks this kid's ceiling is through the roof ...

Gonna be a tough get, he's got a ton of offers (I wanna say like 10 or 12 in the last couple of days or so) and will get a big bump in the rankings.

One HM AC (Not Chester) said he thought Kaden was the best prospect that he saw this weekend ... 🤷‍♂️

Noticing a bit of a shift to our 2023 class. Guess that means next year's class is just about wrapped up?

Illinois looked tired and beat up. Being fit is one thing and being tired from a long season is another. Players pace themselves based on the length of their season.
I disagree but if that is the case forget being a pro with a season more than twice that long.

Trent was on fire and carrying the team in the middle of the season. He was a shell of that guy late. Was more than just his eye the last couple of games. Think his shoulder never fully recovered because he got no rest - playing 35 minutes average and all 40 in a few of the games. Kofi was not running the court but slowly jogging most of the time in the latter part of the year - the limited rest and constant beating took its toll. And being worn down makes you more susceptible to getting sick - I believe that Frazier might not have had such a problem with pink eye if he had it at the beginning of the year. Didn't seem to bother Coleman or anyone else as much.
As for how they could play in the NBA - one, they are not going to play as many minutes especially when hurt, and two, they are going to be better cared for and in better shape because that is their job - no school classes and homework, etc. to worry about. Further, in the NBA they do not typically play any more minutes than in college even though the games are longer - everyone gets more rest during the game than in college. For example, Derozan leads the Bulls in playing time with 36.1 minutes per game, about the same as Frazier, even though the games are 8 minutes longer in playing time.
You can believe that Trent and Kofi weren't tired or beat up, but based upon what I saw, I think the season had taken a toll.
They didn't lose from being tired. They were undersized and over matched physically. BU is now the past two seasons recruiting the exact type of players that inspire if tremendous effort that we did not have on the court last season. Players with length and size that could slash, defend bigger guys, shoot it better and score at the rim. That is why we lost. We didn't match up physically. Nor did most of the B10. That is exactly what BU is changing. We weren't the only team with buys playing extended minutes for goodness sake. Saying we lost for being tired is just an excuse and it's not why we lost We lost because outside of Kofi we were too small, on the perimeter, not athletic enough and couldn't shoot effectively . Those short comings are clearly being addressed through recruiting different types of players now at every position outside of Kofi

You make a good point. Plummer, Frazier and Williams were nearly always guarding guys quite a bit taller. Over time, that makes a big difference.

I thought I remembered BU talking about how the intense winter break practices rebuild the conditioning for the rest of the season. Instead of those practices, they spent 10 days quarantined in hotel rooms. Some of the players were hit pretty hard with a disease that can reduce strength and stamina for months. Instead of building stamina, they were losing it drastically. Adding that to injuries and being undersized is a recipe for a late season collapse. At least that’s the way I saw it.

I believe when I was checking the Kentucky board to see if they were saying anything about Terrence Shannon, there was some talk that they were waiting for this guy.
Would be surprised if they wanted to roll two sub 6' guys out there in Wheeler and Davis. Not sure that's the greatest idea after the year we just experienced, so here's to hoping they want to do just that.

May not get the same points with Illinois, but playing Big Ten competition, and feeding Kofi and shooters will show his skills for the NBA...
Clearly he’s a hooper putting up those stats at the D1 level. He is however 5’11. With Epps at 6’2 and Skyy at 6’3, I’ll be interested to see if we’re willing to compromise that height at the lead guard position for an experienced guard who should produce.

Travis Ford had some dudes at Oklahoma State, too, and still stunk. Color me surprised if the leopard changes its spots.

I think this is overplayed on this board. He made five NCAA tournaments in eight years at Okie State. Could even make an argument he's their third-best coach in program history. His last year there was a tank job so it makes sense it was time to move on. He's won 23 games in three of the past four seasons at SLU (only missed in 20-21 when they played 21 games). Another P5 program is going to take a chance on him in the not-so-distant future as long as he doesn't end up under NCAA scrutiny. Thought Kansas State should have taken a look at him.

Are you saying random internet posters are wrong?
