FWIW regarding Shannon, I asked around and a couple Kentucky fans believe they are in the lead for Shannon. One cited that he believes admissions is holding Illinois and Michigan back, but I was under the belief that admissions won’t likely be an issue for Illinois. The other cited that since Sharpe is leaving, Shannon would be guaranteed playing time. I can certainly believe that Kentucky may be the favorite right now but my doubt from their perspective is that they are bringing in Chris Livingston and and Cason Wallace, 2 top 10 prospects who are a SF/SG and SG respectively. To sum up, Kentucky may or may not be in the lead for Shannon at the moment, his recruitment has been pretty quiet so far.
Duke and Kentucky have nice problems. Two top 10 prospects coming in at SG/SF and trying to add a top Portal guy at the same position? Last time we had a top 10 guy was in the 80s.

ZZ Clark is characterized as a 6'1" 175lb Point Guard with good shooting skills. I cannot find any star ratings in Rivals or 247 Sports. He has offers from major schools to include Kansas and Arizona State. No doubt he is good and likely wants to play with his brother. Does anyone have any comparison as to how he stacks up against his brother? Hopefully, Illinois becomes the official Clark Pipeline.

To me, I hoped Podz becoming a poor man's Goode, i.e., you probably need to wait until the Junior year to fully develop but it is useful to have a guy like that on the bench. But obviously that's not his inspiration and I understand.
I like Goode and his potential, but right now I’d classify him as a “poor man.”

They've got many videos training together. Skyy looks better to me, but he is also 2 years older. They play and look almost identically. Skyy seems to be more willing to drive to the hoop, while ZZ is more of a shooter. That said, it could just be the game play video I saw of ZZ. He doesn't have many out there yet.

Nah, the insiders have not said anything concrete but they have made several posts that indicate the rumor has legs. They have not said whether we are totally out of it or if it's just a muddier outlook now than it was before, but it was enough that we've been able to determine we do not seem to be in the driver's seat any longer.
What do you know about mud? Don’t you live in the desert? 🤪

If we add a couple guards from the Portal, it's not a big deal. If we're unable to get anyone (which seems unlikely given the number of players in the portal), it's a big deal.

Also, at this point, saying he was never going to do much at Illinois is ridiculous. He may have developed into a decent player. He's a good shooter and that is a nice skill.
I am sorry that Brandon Pods is going elsewhere. I hope that they had lengthy conversations with the the coaching staff and perhaps it was mutual but I feel like he probably saw himself being recruited over and I get how he feels. He will probably go to Marquette or Wisconsin and display the talent that he didn't get to at Illinois!!!!
