Do we think Belo's return (if it happens) says anything, either way, on Kofi's return? You'd obviously assume he'd rather have Kofi there. But also (this is probably diving too deep into the tea leaves) Curbelo doesn't follow Kofi on IG. I would assume he used to, since Kofi still follows him? Belo still follows RJ, Coleman, Podz, Goode, Trent, Monte

I would love Belo back. I chalk last season up to him not being at 100% physically or mentally after the concussion. Since it seems we need a point guard, why not get one that knows the system and can hit the ground running? Does he do infuriating stuff - sure, but its a lot of fun watching him when he is "on".

I hope that they had lengthy conversations with the the coaching staff and perhaps it was mutual but I feel like he probably saw himself being recruited over and I get how he feels. He will probably go to Marquette or Wisconsin and display the talent that he didn't get to at Illinois!!!!

There was no communication with the staff. Podz was emailed a haiku from Brad, and he charted this path accordingly.

Very well might be. At the same time, there were rumored locker room issues and it's undeniable that the team played its best ball without him. Might be coincidence, might not. The response below from the UNC starters during March Madness was telling -- didn't seem like the response of people that missed playing with him. Again, I don't mean to be disrespectful towards his family's health issues and I hope for the best in that regard, simply commenting on the basketball part.

I just watched an interview just posted within the hour on you tube. Towards the end of it BU was asked his reaction when Belo said he wanted to transfer. BU said I wished him good luck, pat the on the back, I don't have I'll will towards them. He players that are committed and both feet in. He didn't seem like someone who was recruiting Belo back but maybe he is.

A lot of us seem to have 'recency bias' regarding ACs on court performance. Review the Curbelo highlight video from 20/21 posted a few pages back. Project that freshman performance to his upcoming junior year and imagine what he could be. I'm writing all of this past season off to concussion/covid and the frustration he must have had to faced when Injury and illness limited his ability to perform.
