Ope.
I don't understand why a conference would want this rule anymore. Given the ubiquity of transfers these days, wouldn't this just encourage the movement of players to rival conferences? Wouldn't you want a shot of keeping some of that talent within the conference?

Some hate it. Some don't mind it. Let's move on.

The Packers weren't going to trade Rodgers to the Bears....so I see why...

The really stupid part is that both schools are fine with the transfer, it's just a blanket rule.

I'm not saying Coleman is irreplaceable at all. However, he is a very good athlete, that provides a lot of versatility and is a very good defender. In terms of returning players, we only have RJ as the possible star, Goode as a glue type guy, and Hawk as the vet that still has a lot of promise to his game. He has a lot of untapped potential, but mainly, it is nice to have a guy or 2 returning from your team to carry out an identity. He is a good passer, has promise as a shooter, very energetic, and plays very versatile d that slowed some players down last year. All I am saying is if we can build around RJ and Hawkins as 2 starters (along with Clark too) and fill out rest of roster and Dainja off bench, you have a couple of studs spots to fill while having some roster continuity and at least a talented glue guy. Now saying this, if we end up with something like Nance, Dainja, Whitmore, RJ, and Clark, I am definitely not complaining what so ever, but if can bring Dainja off bench, why not? I would think Dainja would be much more ameniable to that than bringing Cole Hawk off bench.
Mostly, I agree with this, although I'm not sure how seriously to take the Nance and Whitmore conversation. Also, I may have said this before, but I believe RJ and Goode need to be our starting "wings."

He would actually fit our needs nicely. Veteran point guard who shouldn't be expecting to play 30 minutes a game and take 20 shots. Good defender.
Really interesting how this stuff works. Ivey leaving. Not a tone of talent coming in to make him think minutes are not going to be there. (Don't know about Purdue's portal activity). Of course, maybe he doesn't like Painter! Some things could just be real simple like that. A contending team could really use him as an added piece if he wanted that role. He's from Indy so maybe he goes to Butler.

I wouldn't be surprised at our interest but I'd be surprised at his.

Last year Purdue was the only or one of a few division 1 teams without a transfer

It used to be a thing where a school could block a player from transferring to another school, in conference. I know that's no longer a thing...but are there any recent examples of a player transferring from one B1G school to another?

Yes, I realize that is football.

Well, hey, we could also cut about 20% if we got rid of the posts that complain about other posts (which leads to responses, and then more complaints, and then...and here we are).

Remove both and were down 50 percent!

Exactly. And while the focus has been on giving the players more they have overlooked how the fans of the game(those ultimately paying the money) will accept the chaos that these 2 things together have created. I think it will be more negative than others apparently. NIL is great, but I don't see how the one time transfer can continue along with it. It hurts too much of what makes college sports popular.
I've been a season ticket holder for a while now. The last few years have been a LOT more fun! Cost of tickets went up nearly 25% this year, but you better believe we still got them, and so is everyone else.

Once the year starts its like your local HS team. You are going to support them and carry on with your day knowing very well the underclassmen may or may not play next year and the seniors will graduate.
