1436 as of noon today. Is it though? We landed the Brothers Clark this month. We are the only team with two 2024 (potential 2023 reclasses) commits presently.
If we have learned anything from the transfer portal era, it moves fast and violently. Whiplash is a concern for a lot of posters.
It has certainly made the offseason much less of a bore. BU said there were 1,300 names in the portal yesterday and a few weeks ago it was at 900.
Every time a player enters the portal, a different player gets deposited to a DII, DIII or NAIA campus somewhere.
Yes on Reid. No thanks on Mitchell. Give me Jones and Reid and call it a day. But ... IL will only land Jones. That's my latest (and 27th) prediction.Tre Mitchell
Efton Reid
That is a crazy number.1436 as of noon today.

If you've seen moneyball, they have a scene about this. They couldn't replace Jason giambi, but you may be able to replace a lot of what he brings by different people contributing different things. We should have better passing and possibly pick and roll defense from those playing center this year, for example. But yes, of course fewer post moves leading to dunks or fouls.

Or what? hahaha this is a thread solely based on recruitment talk. I hope they land them both but they most likely wont land either (unfortunately.) Your reply having no context is hilarious though. You can say the same thing about Skyy and ZZ and look what happened. You may want to watch what your saying here.
My neck plates are open if anyone is wondering…Protect da neck
If it was only an opinion and not an unwanted truth. PLease prove me wrong, BU!
Probably same play that Kofi team played last year. Can’t blame them if it gets him a pay raise.
Except Hawkins hasn't shown he can score in the low post over defenders other than rebound tip ins or dunks. Has no back down or face up game in the paint.hawkins and nance at the 4/5 would be a matchup problem for a lot of teams. i like your break down of hypothetical minutes
Rough estimate: that is @ 30% of D1 basketball players. That is a crazy number.
but Nance can play with his back to the basketExcept Hawkins hasn't shown he can score in the low post over defenders other than rebound tip ins or dunks. Has no back down or face up game in the paint.
To me having bigs that can knock down an open shot is more important than a post up game.Except Hawkins hasn't shown he can score in the low post over defenders other than rebound tip ins or dunks. Has no back down or face up game in the paint.
Good thing there’s no rule requiring we need to run post-ups for him then! Use him in PnRs with skyy as a lob threat or spacing out in pick and pops, let him roam, run the floor in transition. We’re gonna see a much more modern, less post-heavy offense with Kofi gone.Except Hawkins hasn't shown he can score in the low post over defenders other than rebound tip ins or dunks. Has no back down or face up game in the paint.
Illinois could have bates right now if they wanted him.
Complete with a job for his step dad?
Don't we all have weird step dads?I believe Mitchell is the one with the weird step dad guy.

he's terribly weak, and if your team hates each other because of him, he becomes a net negative. If we could have Bates now seems crazy that you wouldn't say yes. Even with the extra curriculars involved. Guy was thought of as the best player in all of HS as a soph and if he turns into a success story, could be helpful with future top prospects
What if he represents the anthesis of your culture? If we could have Bates now seems crazy that you wouldn't say yes. Even with the extra curriculars involved. Consider that Memphis went 12-9 with Bates playing and 10-2 when he did not play.If we could have Bates now seems crazy that you wouldn't say yes. Even with the extra curriculars involved. The fact that even Izzo didn’t want to keep him as a commit should raise all the red flags. If we could have Bates now seems crazy that you wouldn't say yes. Even with the extra curriculars involved.
