Pondering does the body good...............................it really really does...................................

With all due respect to you, IMPE, the brother did have a potentially life threatening illness requiring surgery in the middle of his freshman year…kinda derailed things a bit for him. Otherwise he may have beat out Williams…Nostalgic? For a few months ago? Ok.
Coleman is 2 years younger than Nance so they are at a different place. Is Hawkins better than Nance is now in two years? I think so.
And Melendez couldn't beat out Damonte either so are you fine if he leaves? (both should have started over Williams but we aren't the coach)
And its not being sentimental. Its called loyalty(see: website) and developing players like a program is supposed to do. If none of that matters then we can save a bunch of money on a coaching staff. Why do we need Underwood? It comes down to recruiting from the portal and letting them loose. You know...basically turning college basketball into the next AAU level. You know what you wind up with. A bunch of talent and a crappy product.
when you start pulling your hair outBut at what point does pondering become ruminating? Tis a fine line.
We have GOT to go after this guy so that Nick Smith can be displaced as the tallest Illini ever.
There's nothing kind, considerate, or appreciative, about a Bye Felicia gif.I wished him well when I posted the gif. Typing my thoughts out didnt seem necessary at the time. Especially since its all speculation right now anyway.

Used to be on Green Street way back when.BW3? They expanded into a space that was a coffee shop in 2009.
No, it's not, even if that's what the other kids tell you.Um, that meme is also meant to be funny
lol oh yeah, there's a guy who definitely would have transferred if he played today, dude never got subbed out in his life without showing visible frustration on his faceWe have GOT to go after this guy so that Nick Smith can be displaced as the tallest Illini ever.
I am really getting sick of this. Brad keeps saying we are a developmental program, but you need players to stick around to develop last I heard.
No kidding! Are you supposed to just have one guy at a position? You get 13 scholarships because you need depth. Players get injured. You need depth at every position. That is not disloyalty or disrespect, but rather team balance.
Look earlier in this thread -- immediately after Shannon's tweet. He took them down, but there are screenshots in this thread

Right!!!No kidding! Are you supposed to just have one guy at a position? You get 13 scholarships because you need depth. Players get injured.
As of now we have two legitimate players at PF/C and one of them has barely played in two years. A coach would have to be insane to not bring in at least one more guy up front (we really need two).
Not to be nitpicky, but this isn’t true either. Michigan will accept up to 60 hours of transfer credit. They do have a policy, however, not to accept upperclassmen transfers. Illinois has the same rule, but it appears that Shannon got a waiver of that rule. Not to be a nitpicky but, he hasn't "technically" not graduated, he just hasn't graduated, full stop. Michigan's issue is that they don't take transfer credits so most of his progress would be gone. Illinois was more accommodating in taking his credits. This is big so that he can graduate in a year. Had he finished up and graduated, the issue with his credits is no big deal and he could have just grad transferred to Michigan.
Teams have been doing this for years. Years! I don’t see it as respect. The kid gets a chance to play and if it doesn’t work out, you have to look for someone else. It’s no disrespect to the kid but the coaches have to be good stewards of the program and make sure the talent pool stays strong.A player leaving because the coaches bring in guys specifically to take his place isn't disloyalty. Its recognizing they don't respect him. That is 100% not how you should treat your players.
And if that is the "new era" of college basketball then I guarantee you that college basketball will go down in popularity. A large number of fans(and donors) are not going to tune in to watch whatever group of mercenaries a team brings in each year. You can say that's just the way it is, but that doesn't excuse it.
The reality is, fans will watch if the team wins.A player leaving because the coaches bring in guys specifically to take his place isn't disloyalty. Its recognizing they don't respect him. That is 100% not how you should treat your players.

McCullar looks like the 6-6 Damonte that I’ve been wanting for years plus he averaged 10/5/3 last year. We should absolutely take him imo.Now this could potentially could be a silly question if I decided to sit and ponder, but I'm too lazy and what other takes on it...
While McCullar would definitely help this team on both ends (especially defensively) if he were to sign with Illinois, would he create a bit of a log-jam at the 3-4 position?
