That doesn’t read like dmw.

Not sure we have enough minutes for him to be happy but would take him in a heartbeat

Skyy, RJ, Epps, TSJ, MCullar, Hawkins, Nance, Dainja, Goode, Roger, Harris.

That’s 11 deep in valuable mins. And that’s a Top 10 team. Without a doubt.

I hope it come into fruition because it seems like a real possibility at the moment.

Depth is nice if you need it, but I don't think having 11 guys that need an actual decent number of minutes is a good thing. Cause we aren't going 11 deep much. It's a recipe for seeing a bunch of guys leave next year.

If Nance doesn't want to play as a post then he really doesn't fill any kind of need for us. He becomes redundant to what we already have. 2-4 here are pretty interchangeable...and we have plenty of wings. If McCullar comes put another one in the mix. We would still be left with Dainja and Hawkins filling those 5 man minutes.
Easy fix. go with 3 guard/2 forwards lineup

Considering the inexperience of the freshmen, Dainja, and Goode, you need more depth. That’s 5 players who haven’t really got much of a crack at playing at the a power five level.

Yes..we don't want to be like the bluebloods...never know when injuries may happen though..

Lol, A guy that has literally play single digit minutes in 2 years above Nance? I am optimistic for Dain but please man.

Agreed. He certainly looks promising, but I’d hold off on projecting him to start. If we get Nance (which might be wishful thinking), Nance and Hawk would start at the 4 and 5.

Skyy, TSJ, RJ start
McCullar, Goode back up 1-3

Hawkins, Nance, Dainja play about 70 minutes at the 4/5, with 10 minutes reserved for a three wing lineup. Could see Hawk coming off the bench for the energy boost, but would get more tic than DD.

That’s an 8 man rotation. Rogers tries to unseat Goode. Epps tries to secure back up PG minutes, making a 9-man rotation.

I think Harris, as well as potentially Epps and the ‘loser’ of the Goode/Rogers competition still get minutes… but not true rotation guys.

In sports, you don't usually get the opportunity to stack talent that deep. But when you do, you absolutely take it. Look at the roster of the few teams that have practically no financial limitations at all - top European soccer clubs. Real Madrid has players that barely play, that could go and play a starring role for another team in the Spanish league. Yet I've never heard of a push from fans to dilute the talent level on their bench, or to forego bringing in more talented players.

Agree fine balancing act for staff. Guys like bbv and 2-3 minutes a game and supporting program are great fits

Lville said Brad doesn’t guarantee anybody to start maybe except Skyy. However, I partially agree with your theory except it was rumored Nance doesn’t want to play 5. It makes sense since he is not an NBA 5 and he wants to play in NBA. Therefore, if (still a big if) we land Nance, most likely CH doesn’t start and will likely lead to the scenario most people here do not want to see happening.
If this scenario plays out with CH, we better be talking final four at the end of the season.

I can't assume Nance until he's actually here. The slash is there as an indicator that if he transfers in, he will be the starter. As of now, that is an if.

Wish all the Nance speculation would stop. He’s not going to be in champaign next season

Sounds like the kerfuffle with Shannon and Michigan was Michigan wouldn't accept some of his courses so Shannon would have needed to take summer school. Texas Tech wouldn't keep him on scholarship over the summer so he could leave. So he'd either have to delay going to his new school and pay his own way for the summer or go to a school that would let him in immediately.

That's where you get the anger at Texas Tech, but why in the world would they give a kid free classes just so he can leave? That would not make a ton of sense.

Who really uses a steady rotation of 10?
Iowa last year had 10 guys with double digit minutes. I know its rare but we saw first hand when you only have 7 guys with double digit minutes, They lose to Indiana then barely get by Chattanooga. I do not see an issue using 10 guys double digit minutes as much talent as we will have.

It amazes me that freakin Seth Davis appreciates one of our own more than some of the people that frequent this board. Unbelievable. I get that he was a flawed offensive player and that could be really frustrating at times, but y'all need to let it go. You are holding him responsible for Brad's rotations. All he did was play his butt off, and that made Brad want to play him instead of other options. You should absolutely want another DMW on our team, let alone a substantially better version of DMW.

Alternatively we can look at UNC who played five guys for 30+ minutes, one for 13, and one for 10... and they did alright. The quality and the fit of the guys who play the most will always matter far, far more than anything else.

Met Seth Davis’s mom a few weeks back. Brought up how he picked us to lose to Chattanooga. She mentioned that he gets paid more to make crazy picks.
