I watched ttu in the tourney. If people on this board want positionless basketball McCuller is a fantastic find. He can play 1-3, defend, provide a steady hand and veteran/tournament leadership. I’m shocked there are any non bigs people are more interested in than him.
Kind of meet our need except I wish he shoots the 3 ball better. Personally, I am looking for someone who can handle the ball well with reasonable low TO rate, can defend, and shoot the 3 ball well. I suspect we have already jumped on him if he were a good shooter.

His line up was based on McCullar and Nance coming on board. I don't think RJ starts under that scenario.
As the insiders have said multiple times, RJ is basically a guarantee to start. You don't start McCullar but with his size, versaility, and defensive abilities he is in first rotation and can sub out anyone from the 1-4, and because of that will get starter minutes. Also, because of his defense, he may not start games but he will be in at the end of close games.

In a lineup with McCullar and Nance added I believe:

Skyy
TSJ
RJ
Coleman
Nance

With McCullar, Dain and Ty all being the the first rotation that BU likes to do at about the 15/16 minute mark. McCullar can sub anyone 1-4, Dain can probably sub either Nance or Coleman and Ty can sub anyone 2-4.

Lville said Brad doesn’t guarantee anybody to start maybe except Skyy. However, I partially agree with your theory except it was rumored Nance doesn’t want to play 5. It makes sense since he is not an NBA 5 and he wants to play in NBA. Therefore, if (still a big if) we land Nance, most likely CH doesn’t start and will likely lead to the scenario most people here do not want to see happening.

I mean, just make Nance the 4 and Coleman the 5 then haha.

I am pretty happy with adding TSJ and Skyy.

I would prefer to add a HS 4 or 5 for depth and switch our focus to 2023 and 2024 class.

Lets see what our young guns can do!
The freshman can prove it in practice and games if the earn it. TSJ and the transfers we are recruiting now days are proven. We need experience to provide opportunity for newbies to get better n be ready, if they are ready then great if not we are good too.

Insiders can tell me I'm wrong and I'll accept that, but I think the starting lineup would/could be Skyy, McCullar, RJ, TSJ, and Dainja/Nance if he transfers here.
Lol, A guy that has literally play single digit minutes in 2 years above Nance? I am optimistic for Dain but please man.

Southern IL
Skyy, RJ, Epps, TSJ, MCullar, Hawkins, Nance, Dainja, Goode, Roger, Harris.

That’s 11 deep in valuable mins. And that’s a Top 10 team. Without a doubt.

I hope it come into fruition because it seems like a real possibility at the moment.

Sure, but that doesn't prevent the player from announcing their intent publicly. I'm not sure why a player would hold back.
I could see a scenario where a player wants an additional 48 hrs to evaluate. Notifies school in order to keep option open but works an understanding out with the program that he may withdraw the request within the next 48 hours in which case the portal request is never entered and never goes public.

Skyy is starting next year. The rest will be figured out
I feel we need a starting experienced PG. Skyy can be the 2 that can play the 1 as needed. However I don't think a good head coach should promise anything other than if you bust your !!! then I see you as a starter. Promises no..you need to earn it. I don't think great players want things given to them.

If Nance doesn't want to play as a post then he really doesn't fill any kind of need for us. He becomes redundant to what we already have. 2-4 here are pretty interchangeable...and we have plenty of wings. If McCullar comes put another one in the mix. We would still be left with Dainja and Hawkins filling those 5 man minutes.
