So if Mayer is just looking for max NIL, not a Brad Every Day Guy no?

At some point, you probably need to start buying players with NIL money but I feel like we are not quite there yet in terms of paying top NIL dollars for recruitment. Therefore I am not optimistic about Mayer recruitment.

This recent news is from "The Portal Report." They reference Rivals.

According to Rivals, Ramey is currently being recruited by Wake Forest, Georgetown, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Kansas, Marquette, Maryland, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, San Diego State, Illinois, Cal, SMU, West Virginia, Villanova, Ohio State, and Xavier.

Long shot, but we ARE interested in this combo guard from Texas.

I'm sure NIL is a big part of the equation. I'm very skeptical that it's the only part.

Is there a reason why? We’ve shown Whitman’s athletic department isn’t exactly small time with its willingness to spend. I’d bet we have as much as anyone not named Duke/Kentucky/UNC/etc., which admittedly would be a factor against us with Meyer.

I get the sense that positionless basketball is what Brad is going for. I think the last thread kinda brought up the point about who would start and I think if you bring in Mayer and Nance...
(and side note -Mayer looking for a bag of money is not a bad thing. kid didn't get invited to either camp so this will probably be his best shot at making the most money in his career. the fact that brad is still interested in him tells us he's a good fit)
... that you have 6 players that need/really want to start.

Clark (1,2)
RJ (2,3,4)
TSJ (2,3,4)
Mayer (3,4)
Hawkins (4,5)
Nance (4,5)

Now I know that no one in this thread has the balls to put out a projected lineup but I do. ;)

Clark
TSJ
Mayer
Nance
Hawkins

RJ is a stud but at the beginning of the season, I think Brad will START the more senior members of the team. I still think RJ will end up with 25 minutes.
I think Hawkins will start the 5 because if Nance is to come here, he will want to up his draft stock. Playing the 4 will offer that to him more than the 5 (although I do think we will play pretty positionless basketball.)

Bold predictions:
I think Nance will lead the team in minutes played with about 30.

It's the businesses that you have to get to pony up the money, not the athletic department.

Flip Hawkins and Nance, I also still think Dain would start with Nance playing the 4.....👀
