Few was watching Jazz during the last live period. Jazz is taking an OV to Dayton this weekend. Also, since my ADHD brain likes to have multiple thoughts going at the same time, I like to start another discussion topic: seems like smoke there has cooled on Jazz Gardner? Didn't really hear anything about him this summer whether it be gameplay, visits, AAU circuit, or college lists. Anyone got details here?

I think this has to do with development:Genuine question: Why wouldn't this rationale apply equally to Fears?
Dumb question - I'm not sure why but I thought Fears was a 2022...did he reclass or was he always a 2023? I thought it was either/or with Fears & Boswell. Brain cramp?I wasn’t saying Fears was going pro yesterday …
I just don’t know if he winds up in East Lansing versus another University

TY Indy. No House of Paign team for this year's TBT. Throwback photo of a few years ago.Good info TC
He’s at Dayton right now … Was at their TBT game last night.
Boswell was always going to reclass from 2023 to 2022 …
Fears has always been a 2023 …
I feel the blue bloods are like the varsity QB in HS. Keep a couple of the ladies close for when needed and a large number on standby when the primary are taken by someone else. Why are Duke/UNC all over JB then? I know that has nothing to do with us.

Not too long ago we thought either of Boswell, Fears, or DaiDai were a must get in '23. Nary did we know that we would end up with Skyy.
because he committed to Michigan State and they are turds
TA always got something up his sleeve …
IMO, Skyy is going to be the best one out of that group. Fletch has got him back … Got to see him live and he looks like his pre-injury self. Absolute STUD
I have no idea why Fears or ZZ are going to OE, but your explanation smells a little like Illinois homerism rationalization.I think this has to do with development:
Fears is a 2023 recruit in the 40's range
ZZ is a 2024 and not ranked (probably around 150ish)
I would guess the reason Fears is going to OE is for money.
With that assumption, it might come down to who offers him more money.
Fears is focused on getting to the NBA.
I would guess the reason for ZZ going to OE is for coaching/development/resources.
Right now, ZZ is a project. With his current rating and status of ILL BBall, I could definitely see him being a redshirt candidate.
ZZ is focused on being good enough to make an ILL roster (his "dream" school)
I know exactly why they're doing itI have no idea why Fears or ZZ are going to OE, but your explanation smells a little like Illinois homerism rationalization.

My understanding is you can earn NIL money at OE and maintain eligibility. But you don't maintain eligibility if you are paid a salary by OE. Right?I know exactly why they're doing it
Agreed. I would also add that Fears is a top 50 PG who was (is) likely to play a significant role in East Lansing next season. He was a priority for them in this cycle. ZZ is a couple years out from playing for us, and isn't widely considered a top 100 at this point in his development. We have a lot of time to fill that spot should he choose to continue to play at OE rather than enroll in Champaign. I don't know anything, but I assume our pursuit of his brother may have had something to do with his offer in the first place.because he committed to Michigan State and they are turds
He made this one, too … coming in at #6!Brown made this list:
Is there evidence that MSU fans are freaking out about this? I perused twitter and didn't see anything of the sort. And why would they? The plan, as of now, appears to be to maintain eligibility and end up at MSU. If he does wind up at a different school for whatever reason, I'm not getting what that has to do with Overtime Elite.Agreed. I'll put it this way, if Morez Johnson announces tomorrow that he is going to go to OE in the coming season, our feelings would probably match how MSU fans are feeling about Fears today. ZZ just doesn't move our needle much in any direction at this point in time. There will be a lot of roster movement between now and the start of the 2024 season.
Indy, I know we discussed Flory Bidunga, but has he advanced enough for him to be a priority?? Who is the lead recruiter on him??
