Interesting that Moretti can reclass to '22. My guess is that Underwood prefers to keep our last ride open. And still have the option to take Moretti as a '23 (Skyy's successor). 'Course, if the kid is bent set on being in D1 this year, that may change things.
He can reclass back easily because he originally a 2022. He is 18. He’s not like a kid who reclasses ahead and is younger.

Moretti is actually in his right class in 2022. He was going to take an extra year at prep school but may be rethinking it.

Not sure what the coaches are thinking about him, though.

Yeah, knew that. But thanks for clarifying. My post wasn't clear on that.

On the current roster, what is the PG depth? I'll throw out some names but no idea....

Skyy
Jayden
Sencire / Ty (have seen people say he's capable of bringing up the ball --no idea if true)
In his podcast BU said he wants the ball in Ty’s hands. Don’t know if that means using him as a PG or maybe at the pinchpost. If he is at PG the team will be really big and defensively switchable 1-5. Roles will be interesting.

Chicago, IL
we are going to be so good. for many many years.
The way college basketball is heading is a free for all every offseason. The idea of a scholarship grid (which is still appreciated and interesting!) is almost a joke. A bunch of these guys we're penciling in as anchors in this thread are going to transfer away with big opportunity still in front of them at Illinois, that's reality.

That's an environment in which certain kinds of coaches are going to struggle and others are going to thrive. We have, thank goodness, one of the latter.

Both in terms of understanding the structure he needs to keep getting players, and the ability to develop and deploy them with limited time and amid changing rosters, BU is a gem for the direction the sport is heading. There will be down seasons and moments where the pieces don't fit (including potentially this winter), program consistency is probably a thing of the past in college basketball, but we'll be scrapping in the upper echelons of the conference more often than not.

They're planning a visit ... But word I got was TBD on pushing the gas ... 🤷‍♂️
Are they doubting adding him because they think he adds little to no value next year or because they are more comfortable with their PG situation then they were a few weeks ago? Maybe both?

I'd guess they just want to see him play more. With the caliber of recruits we have been pulling in, you don't want to make quick judgements, particularly when the player may not be playing top competition on a regular basis. You have to be sure he can help you.

Bingo ... Also, does the kid want to come in and play spot minutes at best ? It'd basically be a redshirt year ... Or just do the prep year and actually play ...

He is currently at the same school the Murray brothers went ... Very respected in the Player Development aspect ...

One thing's for sure, I expect Underwood has set a very high bar for that last ride. I think it'll be very interesting to see which position is targeted (with the caveat that sometimes plans change, lol).

If the feeling is that Skky is gone, I'm expecting a PG (file under duh).
We’re potentially gonna be down 3-4 of our big wings at the end of this season (depending on how you define Hawkins).
Hearing another international name as well - Geoff loves an Aussie forward that's getting attention.
How have so many people glossed over this??? More info please!
