Is it Sunday yet...?Another futurecast for Illinois! That makes it now 14 total CB’s across Rivals and 247.

For sure. He's fortunate not to have suffered long-term damage from that concussion (as far as it appears.) Wasn't he in a coma for a week?I mean, guys, we can't talk about Carlwell without making note of him being severely injured and nearly dying in the Jamar Smith incident.
The things is, both Weber and Groce had plenty of players throughout their downfalls. Ironically the only really talent-deficient team this program has had in the last 25 (shoot, arguably closer to 50) years was the 08-09 team that finished 2nd in the B1G and got a 5 seed. Both were mediocre recruiters/program builders.
I'm guessing we might settle into being more portal-heavy than some of our peers. In any event the roster building process of college basketball is radically different than when all of these Bruce Weber hijinks happened, and may continue to change further.Yea no. We can and already are doing better than this. I think its going to be the exception to see them taking guys outside the top 100 unless they are late bloomers or very obviously under-rated. At this point I'm expecting an almost yearly dose of guys in the top-50 with the occasional top-30/5 star commit.

I think Nojus will announce before JB, I have no intel here, but thinking it has to be nearing closing time with the Lithuanian BirdLooking past Hansberry, is the timeline for Nojus is shortening? Some have alluded to the possibility of a fall '23 commitment.

So basically once Amani commits we have weeks, maybe months, of no news, off-topic posts to fill the void, and complaints about off-topic posts to look forward to?I hate to break it to you but staff needs to see more of Nojus. They are just not quite ready to take his commitment. Hey, what do I know, that same source said Perrin will be here on the 1st. As i've said we've got a long way to go on those '024's.

Ah, but we still have one schollie. Any disgruntled player on any team across the country should be good for a couple pages of discussion as a portal candidate. So basically once Amani commits we have weeks, maybe months, of no news, off-topic posts to fill the void, and complaints about off-topic posts to look forward to?

Seems like a lot of interest. Isn't the number of writers following and voting much less typically?15 CB’s across Rivals and 247 sports now. We’re getting all the CB’s!

He’s coming. Piper’s CB is a good indicator that things are trending. He wouldn’t have done that if he wasn’t 100 percent certain. Also look who posted the tweet about Amani’s announcement date for Sunday.Seems like a lot of interest. Isn't the number of writers following and voting much less typically?
You have to wonder how Weber’s tenure changes if Richmond is the player we all thought we were getting paired with Meyers. The things is, both Weber and Groce had plenty of players throughout their downfalls. Ironically the only really talent-deficient team this program has had in the last 25 (shoot, arguably closer to 50) years was the 08-09 team that finished 2nd in the B1G and got a 5 seed.
Recruiting was neither the problem nor the solution for those situations, in a way I think our resurgence has very clearly demonstrated.

What gives me a lot of confidence in Underwood is his creativity and flexibility, and the sense that he's building backwards from what the team's needs are rather than forwards from a clingy para-social relationship with whatever 15 year old is being buzzed about in Chicagoland youth basketball circles.
