I converted to the Church of Offer Lists many many years ago, and have found salvation.

Repent, ye rankings carers.
One issue with "offers" is the legitimacy of the info as well as commitability. They also can stale out without the casual observer knowing it.

Further, players sometimes don't invite new offers in as they progress up.

Really no answer other than wait and see. Hope that you have guys on your staff that can identify true talent and the corresponding traits that convert talent into productivity.

True and fair.

The availability of visit info on 247 now is helpful in that regard.

Anyway, we have a bunch of talent between Hansberry and the current freshmen, I'm excited to see what they can do, it's always fun going from knowing the name and the vague outlines of a player to really grasping what their game is in uniform.

Especially when Underwood has such a taste for the avant garde in guys like Giorgi or Curbelo. More junkballing weirdos pls.

Exactly. I seem to remember recently a player that put the Illini in top 4 list not that long before his announcement date even though it was widely known/believed he didn’t have a committable offer nor been really recruited by the Illini for some time. Can’t remember where he went (other teams on the list were a step down), but I’m sure fans of that team were overjoyed with the commitment even more so because they beat out Illinois.

It might have been, but I think it was actually someone we were even less involved with than Bass. At least Bass seemed like a take or close to it at some point. I believe the guy I’m thinking of didn’t even get that far — to the point I think some people were asking who he was.

You might be talking about this guy. Michael Henn, transfer from Denver who chose Penn State over us. We were in his top 3, but insiders said we weren’t even recruiting him.
