I'm watching DGL on Montverde right now, Espn+ vs. Oak Hill. He's playing in a MVA blowout at the end of the game. They just mentioned Underwood and the Texas game. Anyway DGL hit back to back 3s. Seems to be a willing defender, fluid looking athlete. Has a quick release on his jumper.
Haven't heard anything about him this season so I thought I would share.

Now I know Montverde is elite, but are we not worried that one of our recruits is a reserve player that doesn't see many minutes in close games?

To clarify, I only saw the end of the game so I don't know how much he played before hand. FWIW, he looked like he belonged out there with the 5 star recruits.

Well looking at their boxscores, in their first game, a loss to Compass he played 7 minutes. The least on the team with 9 guys seeing the court. The next 2 games were big wins and he got 18 and 9 minutes. Then a tight game he got 3 mins.

Now that is if you can believe the MaxPreps boxscores. Sometimes they look pretty crazy, but he definitely looks like a reserve player. Some questioned his performance over the summer after a strong first period. Does give me a bit of pause.

Of course currently rosters seem to change like hockey lines from year to year.

Could be any number of reasons... injury, grades, in the dog house, nothing at all. If TA went after him, BU said yes and he is coming here, then I'm fine with whatever minutes he plays in high school. A quick check showed he has 4 guys on his team rated higher than him via Rivals. He's 6' 165lbs, with Skyy, Epps, Harris in his way next year at least we don't need a "diaper dandy" to come in and take over. He is #76 on Rivals and a 4 star. BU and Fletcher will get that talent to come out.

If my memory is correct, TSJ was relegated to IMG Academy's "B" team when he transferred there.

That was a monster dunk on a fast break late in the game but brown did not have a good game. Most of his points (about 5 or 6 points) came late in the game from the free throw line. He did not play the whole second quarter. Morez was alot more effective. Morez was aggressive a few times & had about 15 points. Nojus hit a few threes & had a couple of dunks. I was sitting next to my buddy & he was a starting center for Rita. He goes to every game. His words were Brown is a nice kids, he is going to a great school but he doesnt see him being ready for Duke. Not even after his senior season. I might make Tuesdays game next week.

Fran Fraschilla told me he didn't get recruited out of high school
I don’t remember the details very well, but I don’t think he liked the quality of his offers and that’s why he spent a year at IMG. He ended up a top 100 recruit that Illinois offered before he committed to DePaul and then Texas Tech.

Thats my daughter in the picture. Top right hand corner with the blue cocomelon hoodie.. lol. I have always maintained that I am happy that Morez is committed. I like him better than Brown. More aggressive, can handle the ball better, more explosive.

For instance, according to ESPN, the Illini have offered John Bol.

Hadn't heard that name and had to do some (very) light research. Main things I picked up are he's not related to Manute and that he's already like 23 years old. Interesting list of offers. Knew nothing of him, previously.

EDIT: Now I think I'm confused as apparently there are two John Bol's. We just played against one of them. He is also just referred to in some places as John Bol (without the Ajak) so I think that's where I got the 1999 birth date from.

In regards to DGL, I wouldn't put much emphasis on his numbers/playing time at Montverde. A reminder that this past summer on the EYBL AAU circuit he averaged over 16 ppg, 2 rpg, and 3 apg. His freshman year of HS he scored over 21 ppg on 46% from 3. He's going to be fine.

I agree, Fran didnt get recruited out of high school. As for TSJ I saw him play in a high powered AAU tournament in Dallas & he was the best player in it. I know Fran too, but if he did say that about TSJ then he had to be wrong.
I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the Fran Fraschilla comment was sarcasm. I think Fran said that one of the Illini games he did earlier this year.
